Flamingo Grand Hotel & Spa

We stayed at this hotel for 5 days and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is very large and offers many attractions both for children and adults. There were plenty of activities for kids, including a mini club, playgrounds, and play areas with toys. Adults could also enjoy various facilities such as swimming pools, snooker and chess. Our room was spacious, with a large bathroom and a bathtub, which was especially convenient for us while traveling with our almost 2-year-old child. The kitchen was well equipped with all the essential appliances and utensils, including an induction stove, pot, frying pan, and cutlery, making it easy to prepare meals. The restaurant, serving breakfast and dinner, offered a wide variety of food. Everything was fresh and delicious. We especially appreciated that new dishes and snacks were frequently introduced, so the menu did not feel repetitive every day. I highly recommend this hotel for families with children, as well as for older guests who appreciate peace, comfort, and spacious surroundings.

We stayed at the Flamingo Grand in Albena and were very impressed by how beautiful and spotless the hotel is. Everything was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The food was amazing — fresh, delicious, and with plenty of choice at every meal. At this time of year, the hotel was very quiet, which made our stay peaceful and relaxing. The beach is lovely, and most of the time it felt like my husband and I had it all to ourselves. The only downside was that most of the staff seemed rather serious and rarely smiled. They were efficient and professional, but not very warm. The exception was a lovely lady at reception with long black hair — she was always friendly and smiling, which made a real difference. It’s worth noting that in the off-season, the whole resort feels a bit like a ghost town. Almost everything is closed, only one small shop was open (with quite high prices), and there were no buses running. A taxi to Varna costs around 140 lev return. We also booked a VIP tour to Nessebar, which was absolutely beautiful and definitely worth visiting. Overall, the Flamingo Grand is a wonderful hotel for a quiet, relaxing stay — especially if you’re looking to unwind in a clean, comfortable, and peaceful environment.

We recently spent a few nights here and had a generally pleasant stay, though it definitely isn’t a 5-star experience by Western European standards. The positives first: the beds were genuinely comfy, and our room on the 8th floor had a pretty lovely view of the sea. The bar was also a nice surprise, reasonably priced drinks and some really tasty cocktails. One of the cleaners was absolutely lovely and super helpful whenever we saw her. However, there were a few things that took away from the experience. Parking cost around £5 per day, which we weren’t expecting. We also found ants and even earwigs in the room. Having a kitchenette sounded great in theory, but with no cookware at all, it ended up being a bit pointless. Housekeeping was hit-and-miss as another cleaner was constantly on her phone and not too happy to be there. The spa could use some attention as well. The facilities didn’t feel well maintained, it was full of kids running around, and despite the posted “wear a swimsuit” signs older German men ignored the rules entirely which was unpleasant. A lonely wet-floor sign seemed to be the only nod to safety or supervision.

Clean room and building. Friendly and helpful staff. Great food. I only had breakfast and dinner for almost a week. It was very quiet and relaxing ... it is not the season yet though. Very convenient parking solution. We paid in advance and when you approach the gate, the number of your car is automatically recognized, and the gate opens automatically. We loved it!
