It’s hard to rate. Some elements are 1 some are 5 so here we go. Isn't it annoying when you’re on holiday and the maid keeps knocking on the door?? Not here as they only come once a week, make the bed, hang up the towels and leave!! It was clean but very dated, the towels were as thin as the loo roll (which is also rationed). We had read previous reviews and knew this so took some extra towels and bought loo rolls when we arrived. We didn’t use the kitchen at all, just the bed and bathroom. The bed was really firm and became uncomfortable but we slept ok. Great location, 10 mins walk to town and 15 to beach, staff were fine, pool was ok (beds were uncomfortable but again ok). We only went to the pool for a few hours twice as we went to the beach. It was pretty quiet but I imagine that in the summer it would be packed as it’s small compared to the complex size. I personally wouldn’t stay here again, I like a bargain and this is one but too rustic for us. If you can afford a bit more go elsewhere but if you can’t or just want a base it’s fine. To the hotel - charge an extra few euros per person and swap the towels more often and provide extra loo paper.

Great budget break, most things okay, something not ideal. I think most of the rooms here are sublet so you get a big difference in room comfort. We finished up in a 2 bedroom apartment which was massive inside BUT the two balconies were tiny, 2 chairs and a small table and that was it. Get a family of 4 in here and you will need a rota system to sit out. Kitchen was okay, big fridge freezer and a full sized dishwasher. We asked for a high floor and got one. There's no lift but if your able the high floors have a better chance of a view. There are 2 blocks, T2 is around reception and T1 over the road via a footbridge. T1 definately had the better pool. Things to know: Your unlikely to get the keys before 16.00 so pack some shorts handy. Left luggage was an unlocked room use at your risk No kitchen cleaning stuff or bathroom shower gel. Safe hire 15 euros per week with 15 euro deposit, cash only. Local tourism tax also cash only. Door key is a keycard and we got two. When we were there reception was not 24 hours. Also sunbed cushions were 1 euro per day to hire. No pool towels. 30 minute walk to the beach and central Alvor. Good stocked shop on site with some very friendly staff. Alvor is really nice, but if your expecting a 4* hotel here you will be disappointed. It's a budget break.

I have been travelling through Europe for 20 years and this is the worst budget hotel I have stayed in and first negative review I have given. Positives are the aircon was really good and the rooms are large. Rita part of the entertainment and Miguel from reception were lovely and helpfull. We stayed here for 10 nights and did not get our bedsheets changed once after asking several times, we had clean towels on day 1 and 5 and the room was never cleaned once, filthy. The toilets around the pool area never had loo roll or any soap to wash your hands. The pool was green under the arch and towards the deep end and had the same leaves floating in it for days. There was broken glass around our sunbeds by the outside restaurant which was there from our 3rd day to our last, the tables around the pool area had the same filth on them every day and were obviously never washed down the sun beds were the same, the matresses which cost you a euro to hire every day were the same. I could go on. Upon leaving we felt like we were robbed.

Was a little worried reading some of the reviews but can say hand on heart this place is super. I went self catering so cannot comment on the breakfast/dinner. I can say however the room I was given was huge. 2 large bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Never had an issue getting sun loungers even in the late/early afternoon. Location is 10 mins walk downhill to Alvor town and 15 mins walk back uphill. Bar staff very friendly and snack food from the bar was bang on.

After reading the reviews on here I was a little apprehensive to see what the hotel was like….don’t listen to any of them. Seriously. The apartments are HUGE. They are cleaned 3 times a week and the towels are changed if you ask, they changed them without even asking one of the days. The pool area is nice, the sun loungers could do with an upgrade but there were plenty to go around. You do get the odd few who put their towels out in the morning not to return until late afternoon but there are still plenty to go around. The reception and bar staff were friendly and happy to help. The prices were average in the bar and the snack menu was basic but reasonably priced. The shop onsite is very expensive so I’d recommend a €4 Uber to Lidl which is a 5 min drive away. The walk into town and the beach takes about 10mins and is pretty easy and a nice gentle stroll. The hotel is nicely placed between Alvôr and Praia da rocha for those who may want a little more nightlife etc but Alvor was gorgeous and held some Portuguese charm. I’d stay here again as I couldn’t really fault anything, I find some people moan for the sake of moaning as it’s a very decent 3*.

A return visit to Club Alvorferis for us. Basic apartments but clean and have everything you need. We had a 3rd floor 2 bed apartment and I was lucky enough to have a view over to the harbour and beyond. Balconies from bedrooms, kitchen and lounge. We had an issue on the first night with the cooker, call to reception and withinm 10 mins the maintenance chap was at our door. Excellent service. Pleasant walk to the beach and also the town. Onside supermarket closed at 7pm, I am sure it was open later on previous visits, but different time of year. We will be returning in 2024 as the apartments offer good value for money. I will be asking for a lower floor though - 3 and a half flight of stairs were tough with luggage

We have stayed in Clube Alvorferias many times over the past 18 years. If you are expecting luxury apartments you will be in for a rude awakening. But if you want a bargain then it is the place to stay. The apartments are very spacious and comfortable. Basic and very clean. There are a few things lacking however eg no hairdryer (you can rent for 2 euros per day). Unfortunately the location is up a rather steep hill (about 10 mins feom the town centre),but 3.90 euro taxi ride can easily sort that out. Intermarche Supermarket at the bottom of the hill is ideal (or small supermarket onsite). We have always found staff polite and courteous so we're surprised at some of the reviews. My favourite part of The Alvorferias is the pool area which is always spacious and clean. Unfortunately it can be difficult to get a sun lounger as The Usual Suspects tend to gather from around 8am gossiping like a bunch of old grannies (they were actually men) and nabbing all the best sunbeds then disappearing for a few hours. Its a regular occurrence despite complaints from other holiday makers. A good place otherwise for a cheap deal.

I came with my two grown up daughters as a cheap and cheerful girlie holiday. We wernt expecting luxury and in fairness the room was basic, my eldest daughter had bed settee and myself and youngest had toom with single beds. The town was in walking distance and it came alive in evenings with plenty of resteraunts and karaoke bars. We had a fab time and created some lovely memories. The hotel provided a shuttle bus to the beach, the beach itself was stunning, proper sand and reasonable sunbed prices. The downside of hotel was towels only changed every 4 days, and first day towels were counted as a change - yes really. The entertainment was pretty poor, as my daughter said karaoke night there was more singing from the crickets in the surrounding gardens than from guests. The breakfast was reasonable and kept us going. Toilet roll was very limited and not always replaced on cleaning day, we ended up by our own. The plus side was we were in room above reception so wi fi was good. The 2 porteguse male receptionist were helpful and friendly. The location of hotel was good close to town and my girls felt safe to run and walk away from hotel grounds. In all we had a lovely holiday had a laugh about negative aspects and spent some valuable time together.
