We were there a month early. On the emergency phone, Maarten, the owner, told us it was bad luck and simply hung up while we stood in front of the hotel entrance with the kids, stunned! On the second call he said, extremely annoyed, that it was no problem to cancel the reservation and that I should write him an email the next day. Three weeks have now passed, I have already sent more than 10 emails both to ************ (cancellation requests) and to him directly, and have also called 3 times - he claims on the phone that he doesn't send any emails received, neither from me nor from booking, always claims that he would take care of it, I gave all the details over the phone, but nothing has happened yet. Unfortunately, without exception, he is always incredibly unfriendly on the phone, it's a real horror to call and he just hangs up in the middle of the conversation! My efforts are obviously in vain, I've only now read in other reviews that the hotel owner will never respond and will keep the money... It's not worth hiring a lawyer. For us it is a very bad experience and I would like to warn everyone about it - there are just around the corner just as central, very nice, reputable hotels with friendly staff! (We had to reschedule spontaneously) Don't make it difficult for yourself and definitely avoid the Diamonds and Pearls Hotel!
