Hôtel de la Couronne

Great value, friendly hotel ideally located to ski the Chamonix Valley. Basic but comfortable rooms, a great buffet breakfast and a very good bar/restaurant attached. Fee parking a bonus! All rooms are warm with plenty of storage space. Ideal base for a lads ski trip!

Stayed here during a TMB hike. Small quaint hotel right in town, a few minutes walk from the Argentiere train/bus station. Very cozy. Not much of a lobby but can use the breakfast room off the lobby in off hours which is helpful as often the wifi doesn't connect unless you are in the reception area. Room is pretty tiny with barely space to lay down your baggage or move around although the bathroom is huge in comparison - with an old fashioned big and deep tub and windows (being an old hotel not all rooms/bathrooms are the same size or layout). Electric tea kettle with tea bags provided with ceramic mugs which is nice. Bed is two twins put together a bit soft but acceptable. Bedding is quilt/duvet which seems to be the norm in Europe. We have room 31 on 3rd floor with a side mountain view. Simple room with all light colored wooden furniture, plus one wood paneled wall behind the bed, quite charming. Large closet with two extra pillows. Lighting is good. Had dinner at the attached restaurant - quite good, the dessert, a blueberry pie was delicious with a super rich crust. Ok breakfast.

Great location in town and very nice staff. The dinner is in the same building and was excellent. Front desk staff was very helpful and kind. The room was small, but who stays in the room but to sleep?

Stayed here while doing the Tour du Mt Blanc (TMB). Small room with large bathroom and deep tub. Somewhat indifferent checkin staff but the morning staff was helpful in getting us on the right bus. Hotel is on a busy road that leads to Chamonix. Located a block from grocery store and restaurants and a pharmacy. High carb breakfast. Clean room with two twins pushed together.

Stayed here before and after ski touring trip. Could leave all luggage there foe the week. Excellent breakfast, amazing views from room. Simona and other staff super-helpful. Went above and beyond. Short walk to Grand Montets cable.

We visited this hotel for a long weekend. Everything was good; front desk was very helpful, service, breakfast, ski-lockers to mention something. They also have waffles in the breakfast! It’s also good bars and restaurants nearby. I would go back any time!

One night stay, all went well - room was nice, staff pleasant, let me keep my bag in the hotel before and after.

Stayed here for UTMB week clean and comfortable single room with breathtaking mountain views and easy links to public transport, good quality continental breakfast, knowledgeable & very helpful staff, really enjoyed my stay here.

The hotel and rooms were nice, more or less what we expected. The staff, however, were incredibly helpful in every way. I would certainly choose to stay here again if/when I return to Argentiere.
