The separate building is old, but was kept clean. We stayed here in early January, and the air conditioning made it comfortable. For meals, we chose the standard menu "Natural Grouper Full Course" (about 22,000 yen per person, including accommodation). We chose this course because it was said to be a luxurious way to enjoy natural grouper. The course consisted of grouper hot pot, thinly sliced ​​grouper, deep-fried grouper, and nigiri grouper. The grouper hot pot had a rich flavor and was luxuriously voluminous, so we were more than satisfied with just that. However, the thinly sliced ​​grouper and nigiri sushi were chewy and had a refined flavor, the deep fried grouper had plump flesh and a rich flavor, and the rice porridge at the end was so tasty that we ate every last bit; we were able to fully enjoy the deliciousness of grouper that you can't get from just the hot pot. For breakfast, the menu included delicious processed seafood dishes such as dried horse mackerel in mirin and black fish cakes, which were also delicious. Summary: Minshuku Matsubayashi is a dog-friendly accommodation where you can enjoy fresh Kii seafood such as grouper, conger eel, and abalone.
