Our meal at the Crofter’s Rest was exceptional. A brief glance over the menu was enough to entice us to book, and the food didn’t disappoint. From the scallops and Cullen Skink, to the sea bass and venison, each dish was so good, and particularly substantial. The bar/ restaurant area is pleasantly informal, relaxed, and traditional, and the service is friendly and attentive.

2 night stay here which was a gift. Staff were welcoming on arrival. Location excellent on the front of arisaig village. Double room with ensuite. Ensuite appeared new but a few issues. Toilet very difficult to flush and toilet roll holder hanging off the wall. These things could easily be fixed. Also a hair grip on floor I assume from a previous resident. Bedroom a decent size and had a bit of a view of water from window. Dressing table and stool with no mirror above. Mirror over on another wall. Armchair grubby looking. Stains down radiator. Tissue on floor from previous resident. Cushion on chair zip burst. Looked tatty - either replace or remove. All this could have been ignored but the bed was probably the most uncomfortable bed ever. Needs replacing immediately. 2 nights and very little rest. Had dinner in bar first night. Starters good. Mains not so. Venison stew was not hot. Plates cold so food had gone cold. Sea bass very overcooked and inedible. Ate elsewhere on 2nd night. Breakfast- poor selection of cereals. Full scottish - bacon inedible as solid. Fried egg overcooked. Again cold plates so food had lost its heat. On 2nd morning saw other full breakfasts and decided against it. Not cooked to order, bacon and sausage seemed like they had been on a hotplate to keep warm and had dried out. Nowhere apart from soulless bar for residents to sit in the evening. Whole visit was disappointing.

Just returned from a generally enjoyable stay at the Arisaig Hotel despite the weather! The bedrooms are comfortable, there was an excellent shower and the housekeeping staff were extremely pleasant. I stayed here some years ago and was looking forward to the cosy atmosphere the place had then, however the lounge is non existent, being given over to fitness classes and reception is basically the bar. I feel that the hotel has lost its character now and is poorer for it. Dining, which must be prebooked, is in the bar. The place had a nicer atmosphere in the past.

I've been staying here for years, not every year but regularly. It's in a good spot, not too expensive and they take dogs. If it was smarter I couldn't afford it so I've continued to return even though it's maybe a bit tatty. This time the staff were great. They were cheerful and really helpful. Their attitude created a lovely warm atmosphere in the dining room. I don't think I've ever felt so comfortable eating on my own. Thank you

What a little gem the Arisaig Hotel was! We stopped for a meal on 15/09 and the food was outstanding. Lovely bar area that was very dog friendly and the gentleman who served us could not have been any friendlier or attentive. We have spent the last week travelling around the NC500 and this was by far the best meal we had. Would highly recommend and the gentleman who served us is a credit to the hotel - thank you!

Lovely website but what a pity the reality was to differ on our stay. Our twin room was small and the small window overlooked the rubbish bin. Nowhere in the website do they show the over bath shower we are both getting on a bit and expected a walk in ahower. The rustic charm of the bar and dining area didn't appeal to us especially with dogs roaming around. Staff were attentive during our stay here. A big negative is the quality of the coffee.

Perfect Sunday afternoon and evening. Bar and restaurant staff were lovely (despite being run off their feet). Food was excellent We had venison, Cullen skink and the mackerel scotch egg. Local band playing in the afternoon and then bonus of the world cup rugby being on the projector screen. Highly recommend. Definitely coming back as much as we can this week

Odd hotel, very overpriced for the tired public areas and bathrooms. Too many peremptory emails before arrival and no proper reception nor any lounge (there's a bar) - the only downstairs room seems to be given over to local keep fit classes.

The hotel was situated in the beautiful village of Arisaig, with views across the the Small Isles of Canna, Rhum, Eigg and Muck. You can get a boat trip for the day in the harbour opposite the hotel. The staff were really helpful, especially Kira, when our ferry to Uist was cancelled due to storm Betty. She made sure we were comfortable after booking another night, and organised a packed lunch (as a 4am dart meant we missed breakfast). The restaurant is an absolute gem! Live Gaelic music on Friday and Sunday, superb atmosphere. The food is excellent- locally caught seafood and great quality produce. I would eat here again (and again). Thanks to Gilly- very good customer service. There is also a small functional fitness room with kettlebells, TRX, Swiss ball etc.
