Good hotel with reasonably modern room at an excellent price. Very clean, toiletries provided etc, air conditioning works well, my room had a balcony Area is not the safest late at night. Okay for me as a man, but maybe not ideal for single women.

The room itself was ok but the bathroom was a total disaster. The water flows outside the shower. For the price it's not worth it. Dear few EU more another hotel. The hotel is okay for saving money.

The surrounding environment of the hotel is dirty, there is a lot of garbage on the road in front of the door, and some illegal immigrants gather at the door. Service attitude is good, very friendly. The room looked clean, but there were bugs! There are bugs! There are bugs! I woke up early in the morning and found that my whole body was bitten by insects, the most serious one was my right arm, with at least 20 bite marks. Basically every bite mark has a small hole in the red and swollen area. It's itchy, but not scratching. When I checked out, I told the waiter that I was bitten by a bug, and they said it was a mosquito. I told them that I didn't see or hear any mosquitoes in the room, and the mosquito bites were not like 6 or 7 bites in a straight line. They said they would check the room. I didn't say anything more. Later, I went to the next Chinatown and asked the local Chinese proprietress, and showed her the red and swollen part of my arm. She said that it was bitten by a kind of insect in the local mattress. I have stayed in the hotel for so many years, and I have also stayed in other hotels in Athens recently. This is the only time I have been bitten by insects.

I went to the airport shuttle bus to the hotel, but it didn't. I still had to go to the Gendarmerie Square to sit... The location is very poor. Although it is very close to the subway entrance, it has to pass through many alleys and the environment is very poor. The room is fairly clean.

Booked a week in Athens via a well known and respected UK your operator, with accommodation at the Stalis hotel. I am not going to mention the tour operator by name at present as I have raised concerns with them about the hotel and am still waiting for a response. Had a shared transfer booked from the airport and made our way into Athens with an older couple. Taxi entered a side street once in Athens and there was a group of around 12-15 apparently homeless men huddled together sharing ***** paraphernalia. The other couple looked a bit shocked and my wife laughed and said it would be just our luck if this is where our hotel was. Next thing we know the taxi has pulled up and the driver shouts ‘Stalis hotel!’ I actually thought he was hooking so laughed, but he got out and retrieved our bags from the rear of the taxi. I was a bit shocked, couldn’t see the hotel but could see a further three women sat on the kerb in front of the taxi, all seemingly off their faces. I had to say to the taxi driver ‘sorry, where’s the hotel?’ And he pointed across the road. Eventually I noticed the entrance which was set back from the roadside behind some pillars. The street looked like a bit of a dive aside from the ************ but we entered and checked in. There was a guy sat on a sofa opposite reception surrounded by polythene bags which looked like they contained his belongings. Our room was on the 4th floor so up we went. Room had a double bed but not much else. Little space to walk around the bed, very little storage space, no tea or coffee making facilities, a fridge that is only powered on when the key is placed in the holder on the wall (so not much use for keeping water or drinks cool whileyou’re out and about let alone any food). Curtains were covered in marks, the window overlooked an enclosed space that went from floor to roof and contained air conditioning units and the shower in the bathroom was full of mould. Aside from that the room smelled - of what I have no idea but it was there. Tears followed as my wife was understandably upset and quite frankly, a bit scared. She didn’t want to stay and I knew we would Have to find something else but as it was already well into the afternoon I figured we would probably have to stay the night. Quick online search for potential alternative accommodation and we decided to go out and check them out as the last thing we wanted to do was choose somewhere that looked ok online and turned out to be in a ghetto (like the Stalis). So out we go and immediately on leaving the hotel there are eyes on you. You may think I’m being dramatic but having served 30 years as a cop I know what a bad area looks and feels like and this did not give off a holiday or even safe to be here vibe. Incidentally my wife is a criminal justice social worker so we both recognised things for what they are rather than what we might be told they are. Not knowing the area we made for a main road. Getting there was event fre

The room is exactly what you pay for clean sheets, comfy bed, fridge air con etc. Unfortunately the shower was a tight squeeze and there was some mould in the corners. The temperature and pressure of the shower were fine though. The receptionist was informative although ignored us for what appeared to be already checked in male customers when we were trying to check in.The website here claims there is tea/coffee available but when asked we were directed to a coffee shop elsewhere. There is also a claim that room service available but again no mention of this when we checked in. The room was not as soundproofed as indicated and there was a lot of loud music particularly for a tuesday evening. It was unclear of this was from other guests or an outside source however. Would not recommend for a long stay particularly due to the presence of what appeared to be *********** individuals

Very nice Staff, clean rooms, great location for evening walk to center. Generally nice stay. Some comments mentioned that area is not plesent, well from what we saw there are many similar areas in Athens. We don't have any bad experience even walking at night.
