The Traddock

Our room was delightful. Housekeeping was exceptional. Food and service were both of high quality. Special dietary requirements were met without a fuss. Overall the staff were consistently welcoming and attentive. Thank you to the team for making our stay so enjoyable.

Staying at The Traddock was a treat to myself after a week walking in the Dales. And what a treat!! From arrival to departure I genuinely felt a valued guest , nothing was too much trouble. All bedrooms and public rooms are beautiful and the housekeeping staff deserve a special mention for their high standards . The food was some of the best I have tasted, worthy of a Michelin star. I ate both the set evening menu and the Tasting menu, both faultless. Family owned and run , the attention to detail is obvious. All staff were friendly and helpful . Thank you to the whole team , I will definitely be back

Another stay in The Traddock, a gift for my husband’s 80th birthday. As always we had a great welcome. This was our third visit. We love this hotel and the village of Austwick. It is a great place for walking and handy for visiting Settle and Ingleton.

Lovely hotel in Austwick. Very friendly greeting and reception, helpful staff, lovely room and great food. Great base for walking the Dales and exploring locally. We spent a few days here in early April. You can eat at the hotel or at a number of different places nearby locally. Two lovely walks from the hotel (c 2 hours each) and longer walks nearby.

A special birthday treat from my sister, and what a lovely time we had. We were met by Valerie on reception with such warmth as if we were long lost friends. Our room Whernisde, very comfortable, great bedding, we unpacked and went to the bar for a glass of vino. Chris , front of house arranged 2 glasses of sauvignon and Sandy and I sat in a lovely room overlooking the gardens and had a game of Rummy, Chris looked after us well. Dinner, Sandy had chosen the Tasting menu which was delicious, every course a flavour explosion, some courses reminded me of our fav restaurant in Wales Ynyshir, Japanese influences. Melia and Joe explained every course to perfectikn and we chatted along the way. We retired to the bar, met some other guests and one of locals, we had a few more drinks and learnt how to play 5's and 3's, a truly fab night. Breakfast next morning again superb, lovely soaked fruits, creamy yoghurt followed by Eggs Benedict, the carved ham tasted really good, and then some sourdough toast with lemon curd. Definitely will return, superb, family run with guests at the heart of everything they do, thank you all for making it a memorable stay.

Called in with four friends. We sat in the cosy white room just past the bar on the right. It was so comfortable and relaxing I could have stayed all night. We were served with welcome smiles and a friendly but professional manner. I was so pleased with the evening, I am going again in April. Highly recommended. Dogs allowed in the first room by the large fireplace . Superb. Thanks team .

We have just returned from 2 nights at The Traddock, it was our second stay, the last time was in autumn 2023. We stayed in Room 14, Gaping Gill. The room was very comfortable with a wonderful bed, with great bedding and pillows. The bathroom is modern and spacious, the shower pressure is adequate rathe than high. The room is at the side of the hotel, with a nice view overlooking the village but close to the kitchen which is below and to the side Last time we stayed in. a room at the top of the hotel, Town Head, it was just gorgeous, with amazing glimpses of the view we had DBB and the brasserie menu the first night was good but the tasting menu, at a supplement, on the second night was sublime! Breakfast was part self serve and cooked to order, nice choices The service, from everyone, was warm and faultless The log fire in one of the lounges just added to the whole experience

It’s difficult to put into words our experience. This place is truly fantastic. A gorgeous setting, a beautifully appointed building, the room was excellent. And the food - we had dinner here and flat out it was the best chicken dish we’ve ever had. The staff were kind, friendly, professional but not oppressively so and just absolutely accommodating throughout. I was once told to get a hotel/bed and breakfast right you need to nail three things - good bed, good bathroom, good breakfast. The Traddock excels at this. It is a place run with heart, with purpose and with passion and it just shows. We cannot wait to return, a couple of days here is the little retreat one needs to not only recharge - but to re learn to appreciate the finer things in life.

A beautiful hotel, fabulous scenery, wonderful staff and an amazing affinity to your canine friend but spoiled by mediocre food. I can see that many reviews have praised the food but I feel that having spent a day walking in the picturesque surroundings, the last thing I wanted when I returned to the hotel was a plate of food which was only warm, not hot. It was, for the cost, a mediocre meal which spoiled the whole experience. I’m aware that a specialist chef produces meals that show his talent but in reality, when you have spent the whole day outside in the elements, the last thing you want is a picture perfect meal. You’re hungry and you want sustenance. That’s the reason for 3* and not 5
