Les Portails Bleus

Fantastic 2 nights with a couple of friends. Les Portails Bleu is a great base to explore the Burgundy and Beaujolais wineries. Lotte and Wouter are the consummate hosts. 5 well appointed rooms and plenty of space inside and outside to just relax. Basically a home from home and you settle in instantly. My second home in the Burgundy from now on! We stayed here for one week during our wine study trip. Every morning the smell of freshly baked croissants! Host Lotte asks you how you would like your eggs while Wouter makes your coffee, which is the real espresso as it is supposed to be, dark and strong. And that's only the start of the day. Coming home in the evening you make a walk into the beautiful garden with pool and where we (15) had 3 dinners by the BBQ. Great fresh salads, steaks, bavette and delicious local sausages are just a few of my favourites. On top of our everyday tastings, Wouter offered us some wines from his wine cellar that were again, a new discovery for very reasonable prices. Later this summer I will come back with my partner to enjoy this little paradise again! David

I had the opportunity to stay at Les Portails Bleus several times in 2023 and continue to come back, this is my third time here. Lotte and Wouter are fantastic hosts and made both myself and my colleague feel at home while here for work in Macon. It is a beautiful place to stay, and the rooms are comfortable, clean and well appointed. Having the ability to enjoy a home cooked meal and breakfast each day makes the stay even better. Especially as food and wine are center focus and Lotte and Wouter are extremely knowledgeable in regard to food and wine. I plan on returning with my wife and child for some time in the region exploring some of the many wineries. I strongly recommend a stay here.

Stayed here overnight to break up a long journey to Italy. Perfect location just off the Autoroute. Lovely garden to relax in with a very welcome cold beer! Room was clean and comfortable and food was excellent. We had a lovely evening eating and drinking outside with the hosts Lotte & Wouter and 4 lovely Dutch guests. Evening meal is definitely recommended as all the produce is local, including home grown vegetables and herbs. Would definitely visit again if in the area.
