I don’t normally take the time to review places but considering that they market themselves as a 5 star hotel I want to make sure other people considering this hotel know what to expect at least. For context We stayed in this hotel for a week as a family (2 kids) in a connecting family room. First off when we arrived and checked in, the guy at reception said they would check our documents and to please wait in their restaurant. We ordered some drinks and waited. Meanwhile suddenly they start blasting Indian music so loud in the restaurant (it was only us and another family there) that we had to go ask them if they could please turn it back down again. I don’t know for who or why they put the music on so loud. This also happened when we ate breakfast one morning. After maybe 20 minutes we went to ask reception how check in was going and were only told that “they were checking”. We decided to go and get some late lunch since we didn’t know how long we needed to wait for them to “check” whatever they were checking. If the room wasn’t ready, it wouldn’t have been a problem if they simply said so and gave us a time frame for when it would be ready. But this was a taste of the service to come unfortunately. We had a connecting family room that had one bathroom to share. The master bedroom had only a window which was a small and by the ceiling facing out into the hallway (so no external window) which meant it was like sleeping with lights on all night as the hallway light were always on. In this case perhaps a curtain for that window would be good or installing sensor lights in the hallway so the light isn’t on unless someone is there. The rooms were SO warm and when we went to check about the air conditioning they told us it wasn’t working or they didn’t have it. (Not sure which was the correct answer) They couldn’t give us a straight answer. They told us the heating had been on the night before but that they had now switched it off and allowed for “air” instead. So whatever control you have in your room is basically useless. When we asked if they could allow for the air conditioning to be turned on they just told us they would sort it out but nothing got done. We had to sleep with the only external window open during the night so at least our kids could be more comfortable. Other important things to note - we got 2 towels for 4 people. We asked them to bring 2 more which wasn’t done. Only when we saw a cleaner outside in the hallway one evening (3 nights into our stay) did we get 2 more. - there was no cleaning the whole week. We asked for more water, asked if someone would come to at least remove the garbage and they told us they would send someone but never did. - as shown in the photos, one of the single beds was broken underneath. - several sheets/duvet covers were broken, one example shown in the photos. - there was cigarette burns on the double bed headboard despite it being a non-smoking room. Moreover, the location was superb, situated right in front of a beautiful garden and a bustling market. I highly recommend visiting this place to anyone seeking a pleasant and convenient accommodation option. When I checked in I was told the door is broken so I could not open it with the electronic key and they'll open it, but it's gonna be fixed the next day. Of course it was never fixed and I had to ask the staff to open it for me every time. Felt REALLY awkward. Then some day some random woman (she was working here I believe) just opened my door and walked in while I was in my room at midnight, saw me, said sorry and run away. What was that I have no idea, but it kinda gives you an idea about their take on privacy. The TV was not working, because the cable was literally torn apart, the WiFi broke down several times and one time it was more than 24 hours. The showerhead was broken, the water from the shower never went the way it supposed to, but straight to the floor, the toilet was not really attached to the floor (thankfully it was attached to communications). With that being said, I still think the hotel is okay for the price, the room was nice, big and clean and had a personal balcony and the staff were really friendly.

My husband and I stayed 6 nights at the Sheraton Baku in Oct 2023. We were happy with the location, near the water and close to the old city. The room was average size, the bed and pillows were comfy, the bathroom had a large shower with rain and hand held shower nozzles, the tv had several international channels in English and other languages. The room faced the waterfront and had a large balcony with table and 2 chairs. All along the waterfront is a promenade and parkland for people to bike, walk, play. This public area extends the length of the downtown area. We had trouble with the A/C in our room, but after attempts over 2 days to fix it, reception moved us to another room. There is a wonderful restaurant where we had dinner a few nights. We tried pizza, soup, spaghetti bolognese and several salads and were very pleased. The staff were attentive. The restaurant has a nice ambience with an outdoor patio. The lounge area has so many fantastic coffee table books. Huge books that weigh a ton on art, culture, history, architecture, etc. The breakfast buffet was outstanding with many delicious dishes: fresh fruits and veggies, breads, cheeses, hot items, and eggs to order. Breakfast staff were attentive and eager to please. Elbaciz the F&B supervisor was always on top of things, making sure we were happy with the food and arranging to get us some coffee or whatever else we needed. The chef Mazahir always made us the perfect soft boiled eggs. The whole breakfast team were great. I would recommend this hotel for comfort and close to the old city.

I stayed here during my stay in Baku and was really impressed with the hotel. The service at reception is warm, welcoming & helpful. The room was located on the 5th floor and well presented & very comfortable bed (which I needed as I was exhausted after sightseeing and travelling from neighbouring Georgia). The breakfast is plentiful and the hotel is located 5 minutes walk from Nizami Street & 15 minutes to the seafront. I would stay here again!

We arrived on the 22 and was welcomed by ismail and checked in by shams from reception both were super nice and instantly gave us one of the best first impression any one can ask for. Our first day we had shawarma from black city and it was the best shawarma we ever had and made us go back again for the taste of it several times. Definitely recommend every one to try. We had the best service by our special favorite orkhan who was super friendly and the team made sure we get the best service. We had to just look once and literally the staff comes running to help. 10/10 for the attentiveness and details of the black city staff. We tried green house but the food is same as white city. Would have been amazing if they had a different cuisine than white city. We had the best shisha made by Hussain who was very kind but didn’t get the same smile and sweetness from the other staff in green house. Service was not bad but as we had an amazing experience from black city where all the staff are super attentive was a little down fall. We had dinner in white city and couldn’t order anything else after we tried the honey baby chicken which was absolutely delicious. We also had lunch twice in white city but the service was super slow due to lack of staff but David while we noticed it was definitely a time of rush he had done amazing while doing the service with a very energetic smile and a very positive vibe. The hotel has a beautiful steam room, sauna and a pool. I met gulshan from spa while I went for sauna who always was super attentive kind with a gorgeous smile. It is beautiful to go for a walk out side the hotel as it’s near a park with ocean views. We had met amazing locals as well as everyone we met were super kind. The hotel has beautiful garden and greenery around the property. We usually take pictures in every country we go but we fell in love with the gardens and the colours around we took pictures just out side the hotel. Lots of mini butterflies and just super pretty and beautiful colorfulness around the hotel. The rooms are spacious and if you love mirrors this would be a perfect place as the hallway to room are filled with huge mirrors. The only problem we faced was that the hotel didn’t have a eu plug and we had to take a walk to get them on the first day but other than that didn’t have any issues. Lastly was checked out by Orkhan from reception who was funny and sweet asked us about our stay and had a good last impression as well. All together a great team at marriot and definitely would recommend to stay as the hotel is beautiful with amazing facilities and to top of has amazing staff with delicious food. Personally this was the best vacation 💕

In order to see F1, close to the track, many Ferrari and Alfa Romeo team staff also live here, next to the train station, the bus stop to the airport is also opposite the hotel, the subway station is also 5 minutes away, the location is very Ok, 28may shopping mall is nearby, the hotel breakfast is also very good, the first day we arrived early, not yet to enter the room, the front desk warmly let us go to the restaurant to eat a free breakfast, the room is also very large, also from With kitchen equipment, microwave oven, living room is also quite large, the hotel belongs to IHG, non-competition period, the price will be higher.

Walking 🚶♂️ 🚶♀️ distance from the airport, just walk directly to the hotel, you will see right infront of you. Quickly Bypass the Taxi Hawking parking lot into the path in the trees leading into the only building the Hotel, Walk through the beautiful Rosa Damascena, pass your hands on the fragrant Rosemary planted next to it The Hotel interior is beautiful and clean, the Staff give a good impression of how friendly Azerbaijani folks can be, from the Receptionist girl that checks you in, to the Door staff. The rooms will have more drinking water as I was dehydrated after the flight and the water was gone in seconds. Talked to the staff they said they will immediately start adding more bottles of drinking water to all hotel rooms, they did so as they showed me they have a whole storage room full of drinking water bottles. Breakfast was very nice, Breakfast Waiters were extremely helpful. Night Bar/Restaurant also nice, a very patient waiter went through all their Menu on phone then he went through the whole menu again in person, until he saw I was satisfied with my choices. Highly Recommended

There are at least 4 Sapphire Hotels in Baku (Sapphire, Sapphire Inn, Sapphire City, Royal Sapphire), so it can get a little confusing. But the Sapphire Inn, where I stayed, is OK. Admittedly, it looks a lot better online than in reality, but it still has lots of good aspects. The location is excellent, easy walking to Old City, waterfront or center. I got room 314, an enormous, old-style space with rather faded beige carpet and hideous gold wallpaper - but space is good and the bed was really comfortable. My bathroom was in very good shape, clean tiles, large rainshower, good hot water and soft towels. The phone did not work and wifi in the room was weak. Breakfast was rather ”non-European”, with olives, tomatoes and cheese, but wonderful dairy (yoghurt, cream and kaymak to die for !). Some fresh juice and eggs (other than boiled) would be nice. Also, the hotel caters for large tourist groups : when they invaded the breakfast room, it was hard to find a seat and the staff struggled to keep the buffet up-to-date. I found all staff, at reception, room service and restaurant, to be super friendly.
