Vienna International Hotel (Bama)

For my trip to Bama Longevity Village, I chose this Vienna Hotel in the county town. To be honest, the room felt a little dated, and the hotel was still undergoing renovations. However, the staff's service was excellent. They also provided free breakfast and free parking with EV charging stations. Definitely a plus!

Overall, Vienna was pretty good; both the cleanliness and service were satisfactory. It was quite busy with many guests checking in. Cons: The laundry room was reportedly under renovation and thus unavailable. As for the pool, while our family (two adults and one child) could enter, the experience was far from ideal. It's split into a shallow play zone and a deep swimming zone. The deep swimming area was mostly filled with children taking swimming lessons, and the play zone only offered water and a slide, with other facilities closed. This made for an incomplete experience.

The contrast is stark! Last night, we stayed in a family room at Vienna Hotel Jingxi, and today we checked into a family room at Vienna Hotel Bama, but the drop in quality is significant. Let's talk about the room's environment and cleanliness. The layout is sensible, with two double beds on one side and a king-sized bed in a separate section. As for cleanliness, it was truly subpar. Upon entering, we were immediately hit by a strong cigarette smoke odor. I assume the hotel has been open for a while, and the smell absorbed by the carpets and headboards simply won't dissipate. What's more, the carpet was littered with hair, sunflower seed shells, and even dead insects 😂 – perhaps the dark pattern of the carpet makes these things difficult for the cleaning staff to spot. Another issue is that when we booked, the hotel advertised a laundry room, but upon arrival, we were told it was undergoing renovations and was unavailable. On a positive note, the staff were very attentive. To compensate for the hotel's shortcomings, they went above and beyond, offering us an upgraded service, including four breakfast vouchers and two tickets to the aquatic center next door. Honestly though, this pool is a major plus point, and it perfectly compensates for the hotel's other deficiencies. Judging by its water source, it seems to be pure natural mountain spring water. Stepping into it, you immediately feel its refreshing coolness – the experience is absolutely fantastic!

Great location. The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. It's a perfect place to stay, especially with the children's swimming pool at the back that the kids absolutely adored. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Highly recommended!

Situated right by the Bama River, the hotel offers lovely views. The interior design is quite appealing, and the full-length mirror in the room was a fantastic touch! The bathroom was spacious and spotless. What really stood out was breakfast, which even included *douhua* (tofu pudding) – that definitely gets top marks! I'll absolutely book this place again on my next visit.

The room had the typical, standardized decor of a chain hotel and wasn't very spacious. A nice perk was that our stay included a complimentary ticket to the swimming pool located behind the hotel, which made the kids very happy. The hotel breakfast was a bit simple. It's conveniently located not far from Bama's Bǎiniǎoyán and Bǎimó Dòng, only about a half-hour drive away.

The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our room was spotlessly clean and tidy, and the breakfast offered a great variety. This hotel offers excellent value for money. Highly recommend!
