Nobu Hotel Barcelona

Barcelona|1.02km from Una mica de Japo
We arrived just after check-in time to find only two working at their reception desk. Each with guests and one ahead of us in line. We waited patiently for around 10 minutes as they slowly managed to complete the check in of one. In that time the line had grown with 8 more guests waiting behind me to check in as well. I was next to check in, or thought I was, but an additional check in person stepped up to another station to help. But instead of asking for the next one he just helped an impatient guest waiting off to the side instead, making me wait almost 20 minutes just to check in. And beyond just changing you for the room they take a deposit, which I never had happen to me before. I have had hotels put credit cards on file but not actual deposits on top of the room charge. After we got to the room, had a lovely view but the windows were very dirty and couldn’t even take good pictures from it. Then after getting back from going out and about we found the phone and tv were dead. So no room service available or entertainment in our room . I went down to the front desk and asked about it and they said the whole building was out and there was nothing they could do. After we went to bed we were awoken by a maintenance man at 12:30 at night asking to fix our tv. I told him we were sleeping. I was so upset they would even think to send someone at that time of night, when I didn’t even ask them to come, I could hardly sleep after that. I went to the front desk the next morning to ask them about resending the maintenance man back to the room while we were out but they explained the whole building phone and tv was still out. I then asked why they would send someone to fix our tv in the middle of the night. They had no explanation. As of our last night here still no tv, phone, or room service. They have no estimate on when it might come back. For what I thought was a higher end hotel their customer service is lacking and maintenance of their building sub-standard.

Barcelona Century Hotel

Barcelona|0.27km from Una mica de Japo
We stayed over at Barcelona Century Hotel for 7 days and absolutely loved it. Firstly, the staff was incredibly polite and understanding. Always said hello and goodbye as soon as we showed up in the lobby, no matter how many timed we would walk through it throughout the day. We were met with an external issue one time that we had to inform the staff about and they reacted rapidly, which we appreciated very much. Secondly, the room we were given was fine. While I can see why its size could've been a problem to some, it was spacious just enough for me and my family and it didn't bother us at all. The street view wasn't anything too spectacular, however we enjoyed it regardless. Thirdly, the breakfast was fantastic! Delicious coffee - I especially recommend the cappuccinos. Those who aren't fond of sweet breakfasts may dislike it, though - there aren't much neutral or sour foods to choose from (just ham, cheese, eggs, bacon and bread). It's mostly pastries, doughnuts, cereals, yoghurts, fruits and such. I personally have a liking for sweet breakfasts and everything was tasty. Lastly, excellent location! The hotel is not far from Passeig De Gracia and La Rambla. Quite a way to the sea, but honestly Barcelona is so beautiful that there is no need to complain - while on the way there, you'll get to see most of the city's architectural gems and tourist attractions. To conclude, if you're looking for a nice hotel in Barcelona at a fair price, this is the one :) Thank you to the staff for such enjoyable experience, hope to visit the place again soon!

I am not quite clear what some people had issues with. The hotel is perfectly situated within the city centre, the staff are fine and friendly, and the breakfast was certainly adequate -- eggs, bacon, coffee. The view from my window wasn't the best -- it was the inner bit of airducts, but I was thankful that the window opened. Plus, the hotel some how connects to a building of flats, so it's always nice to hear locals doing stuff. I was able to leave my luggage behind on my last day and the staff not only sent me directions to the hotel from the airport, they were very helpful in finding my way to a close bus stop for the Aerobus (I am very sorry I didn't get her name, but she was on the desk at about 5pm on 3 March 2023 when I asked). Luis checked me in and told me where I could find an open grocery store open after 11:00pm (tip: don't get the lactose-free cheese -- you will not be able to get it away from the paper sheets meant to separate the slices). The Wifi allowed me to work for most of the morning before my afternoon meetings, which was great. There are clear signs that visitors cannot go up into the rooms, but my guess is that that is the result of some issues, so be respectful of their rules. The room was cleaned perfectly when I got back after my first day. I would recommend the hotel for whatever reason you are traveling to Barcelona!

Came here with my partner when we visited Barcelona for her birthday. The staff behind the counter were very helpful and genuine. There was a small mix up with the tax to be paid on arrival but was all sorted very quickly. The rooms are very clean and spacious, and the shower/ bath was lovely. The bath was a little small but can't complain. The breakfast was reasonably priced and was very tasty, there was a nice selection of hot and cold foods, as well as cakes, bread and cereal. For the price, it was one of the more classy hotels we looked at but this is not reflected in the price. We was very happy with out stay and have recommended it to some friends who are visiting soon. You are a short walk away from the metro, but probably only 15 minute walk away from Las Ramblas.

I was here as a tourist with a group. As a hotel, it was fine- clean, good breakfast, etc. I needed to do laundry & a great place nearby. However it was a lot of walking to go to familia sagrada and all the tourists sites down to the port & back. I could've taken transit, but wasn't there long enough to bother. I would've preferred something a little closer to attractions, but it was fine. Breakfast was good, room was quiet (although did hear a bit of street noise), elevators were fast although one felt very clunky.

Stayed at nh hotel chain for the first time. I stayed at nh hotel for one night near Madrid airport. I felt pretty good. After arriving in Barcelona, I continued to choose to stay at nh hotel. It was cost-effective, breakfast was great, and service attitude was very good. ;, Although the room facilities are a bit old, but very clean, I will choose to stay in nh chain hotel in the future
