The location is convenient, with easy access to public transport and the city centre. The rooms were cozy and quiet, perfect for resting after a long day of travelling around Switzerland. We especially appreciated the cleanliness and the comfortable beds. Great value for money in Basel. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Basel!"

We were ushered to a wonderful spot in the lounge and ordered coffees/teas (a superb selection) and something sweet to revive us on a wet afternoon. The service was excellent and we all enjoyed this break from the weather outside at a very reasonable cost. Our thanks to everyone."

"This Novotel shares a building with an Ibis, which is a bit tucked away on the side, requiring a bit of a walk around if you're on foot. When checking in, they provide a map, and it turns out it also includes a free transportation pass, but the front desk didn't mention it. I only noticed it the next day after reading reviews on Trip.com. The window needs staff to manually close it with a tool, I'm not sure why it's designed that way. The room isn't big, but the air conditioning does have a heating function."

They even have a QRCODE for a free ride on the tram or bus. how cool is that. They even called a taxi for us to take us to the Viking tor departure. We definitely recommend this hotel. Oh by the way it’s only five minutes walk to the center Basel..GREAT PLACE."

For breakfast, you can order from a menu or simply pick up food and drinks displayed on the restaurant tables. The staff are enthusiastic and the management is very efficient."

"The room itself is OK, and the location is OK. But because there is no air conditioning, it is still a bit stuffy at night. You can borrow an electric fan from the front desk, a Dyson, but there is no remote control, and it is very noisy at the maximum wind speed. Before booking, I saw that toothbrushes were provided, but they were not. The key point is that when I was looking for toothbrushes, I found two pairs of earplugs! I was very curious why the hotel provided this, and I found it at night. It was so noisy. The upstairs is the hotel's bar and breakfast restaurant. It was either the sound of moving tables and chairs or playing music. What's more terrible is that the bars in the two streets in front and behind the hotel are open, all kinds of noises, music, screaming, yelling... It didn't end at 4:30 in the morning. It was crazy. Except for children, adults could still fall asleep. Taking sleeping pills didn't work. I don't recommend this hotel at all."

"It was a horrible experience from start to finish. First of all, there is no receptionist at the hotel at 5 pm on a weekday and no where to park your car. The front door is locked. You have to go across the tram road to get a key and check in from the hotel opposite of the road thru a garden with stairs while carrying your luggage. Absolutely no instructions on where to briefly park the car when I unload the luggage. You have to then park in a public parking up the hills. So it is totally misleading when it says on their amenities that provide parking and charging for electric vehicles. The worst is yet to come. The room I had for the night, had this on going buzzing noisy periodically from the vent of the air conditioning and you are right next to the tram line so it’s really loud noise when the tram go by both ways. This is not a four star hotel by any means. I did not have any sleep for the night and will never return to this hotel again or any of their chain hotels of the group."

They give out a Basel card: free travel on public transport and a 50% discount on museums, theaters and almost everything. The most delicious Swiss apples were waiting for us in the room. Water and fruit daily at the reception."
