Firstly, the location of the place is not car accessible. We had to push our luggages for 15 mins before reaching to the hotel. However, the hotel is right smack in the centre of Qianmen, which makes other traveling easier!
Secondly, we were given an "upgrade" to the room from B1 to L2. But we were greeted with a strong mouldy smell with stale air. When we turn on the aircon, only hot air is coming out (perhaps is because of winter) but we were perspiring in the room while wearing tshirt with shorts. On the second day we feedback to the counter and counter told us to turn on the air ventilation and off the aircon. When my husband told them if we can change the room, they merely gave us another room key and ask us to see it ourselves if the condition is ok. But we were greeted with another strong mouldy room.
So we decided to continue to stay in our current room since the second room ordour was almost unbearable. (I stood in the room for less than 5 seconds and couldn't breathe)
We searched online and found the interior design on the hotel was nice and interesting.but after reaching there we realised that the lobby with nice furniture and old school design was only a display which we cannot go in to sit. Was quite disappointed in this. As this was the main reason why we chosen this hotel.
During housekeeping, there was no refilling of bottled water. Had to ask for it. And bed was not arranged well, floor was not swept (we had leftover crumbs on the floor). Toilet flooded on 3rd day.
In addition, we left 2 portable chargers in the room during check out. And we were in the hotel lobby for at least 1.5 hours but no one called us to inform us about the chargers. Although it is our fault for leaving it in the room, but the housekeeping should also inform the customer service about the chargers found on the bed.
All in all, it was quite an unpleasant time there and we wouldn't go back to the same place again.
