Was hat uns gefallen?

On our trip through the northeast of Germany, we stayed here three nights and were pleasantly surprised. After the easy booking eight months before, we were very nicely contacted just before our trip, whether there were any special wishes. The reception was friendly and professional, our additional wishes were met immediately. The room at the spray side was spacious, beautifully furnished and had a large, well and conveniently furnished bathroom. The beds were very pleasant - not too soft - with large comfortable decks. We were grateful for the firmly installed insect protection at the big door to spray, because it was quite lived at the windows on the evening. Breakfast was versatile and extensive, it was also continuously prepared. Although we were told at the arrival that Corona-conditioned only could be cleaned every second day, we had room service every day. The connection to the ÖPNV is very good with a tram stop in front of the door.

This Hotel is 'miles from anywhere' and you really need a car if you stay there. Food very average as was the Service. The handle on the bathroom door fell off and the bathroom itself was sooo tiny. We had a 'complimentary' bottle of wine left in room. There was no corkscrew and the one we got when we asked for one was broken and it destroyed the cork. We gave it back to the hotel untouched. Stay away. A hotel that was probably fine in the 'East Berlin' days but not now!!

The hotel is located on the river Dahme across from Schloss Köpenick, with beautiful views of the water and the castle. It is well connected to public transport. The room was clean and practical, the staff very helpful and friendly, and the breakfast a treat. Good value for money. Will use this place again.

This is great if you stay in Berlin for a few days. It’s good that public transport is right outside the hostel. It’s a bit far from the main city so you will have to get a few public transport to get there. The beds are squeaky but comfortable enough. The television is in German which is expected. There is no rooms with a shower or toilet in them, so you will have to walk to the shower and toilet. It is a shared bathroom. You will need to give separate deposit if you need towels and utensils and to wash and dry your clothes. The deposit can only be made in cash. There are no bins in the room but the rooms do have a fridge and a locker and a table and chairs. The hostel is great for sleeping and then leaving the next day to do activities.

Don't be deceived by the first look of it. I was though as it looks like a building block standing in the middle of a construction site. However, the interior was surprisingly nice. A bit like student dorm or studio flats rather than hotel rooms actually, albeit in a more luxury version. Good: 1. Close to public transport. 2. Specious room with lots of power sockets and storage spaces 3. very modern and comfy bath room and bed. 4. Plenty of natural light through huge windows ( at least the one I stayed ) 5. very affordable price, especially if you want to stay close to BER airport. Things can be improved : A few USB power sockets would be nice. Things to be aware of/ warned: If you are very concerned about cyber security as I am, you should take note. The hotel free WIFI is NOT password protected so there is zero security but even if there is one, you should know there is still risks. My SIM didn't work with roaming so I had to use the hotel free wifi for some urgent tasks. At first, the wifi name popped up on my screen was ” Citty Guest ”, I knew the spelling of double t looked dodgy but then that's the only one popped up and perhaps some German set up this spelled it wrong. So I used it. Then the day after when I used the wifi there were two available : Citty Guest and CITY GUEST. It was really unsettling to think that the one I used previous day might be a bogus setting up just to trick people into thinking it was the real one. When I asked the reception which one is the right one, I was told the ” CITY GUEST ” is the right one. ( My heart sank ) I made her aware of the existence of the one name ” Citty Guest ” but she just said she doesn't know anything about it and it should be ok. But if she knew nothing about it how can she know it's ok? She doesn't look more an IT expert than I am. To this day I still have no idea whether I was being tricked into using a bogus wifi connections and I was so nervous that I changed all my passwords when I got back home ( but it wouldn't help if the device has been hacked ) but just so you know. If you see both ” Citty Guest ” and ” CITY GUEST ” pop up on your screen, go for the latter one unless you have been told the otherwise.
