"We have been staying here in the hotel attached to the restaurant. Had hoped for very good food, a little disappointed. Very good service I will say, but the food didn’t hit the spot. My foie gras had little taste, the veal medallions were just about pink, spelt risotto rather bland, mushroom sauce was good though. The real disappointment was the dessert, we payed a supplement for it too. Pear soufflé, basically sweetened egg white, with a measure of pear eau de vie to pour in, yes it gave pear flavour, but I’ve eaten many a soufflé, that tasted far better. I will say the madeleine served with it was very good. Maybe because the restaurant was very busy, the cooking suffered!"

"We stayed here for two nights part way through our walking holiday. A charming hotel in a lovely location overlooking Ainhoa. The owner was very welcoming and everything ran very smoothly. He and the staff clearly pride themselves on the standard of service. Our room was very comfortable with a good sized bed and a balcony with views over the town. A large pool with plenty of loungers made for a very relaxing afternoon. Dinners were very good and the complementary appetisers and petit fours made it feel a quality experience. One of the best breakfast offerings of the trip although stick to the coffee rather than tea. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the picnic provided for our walk was also excellent."
