Hare and Hounds

We were lucky enough to celebrate my sons 21st birthday family meal here and it was superb. Great atmosphere, fabulous very tasty food and fantastic staff. We had the best time and will certainly be coming back again. Can’t thank them enough.

Sunday lunch but was appalled by the lack of cleanliness of the place. The toilets were disgusting and smelly. Food very average and well over priced. Slow and rude food service. Would not recommend or revisit

Went today for lunch was very impressed with the menu online, phoned to see if I could come in for Lunch within the hour, asking if they had pendulum kebabs available she answered yes, turned up half hour later the door was locked but there was a man inside saying he will get the keys expressing the fact that he doesn’t even work there!!! opened the door we went in the place had dirty plates on the bar the bar maid said sorry they still Cleaning from hen do night before but can take our order so we ordered the pendulum kebabs which came half hour later they were undercooked, on skewers, on a plate with uncooked fries, microwaved rice and a pale looking pitta bread!! Would not recommend this place to ANYONE!!!

Not impressed! 3 mins to get a drink, further 30 mins to get food. Couple of the potatoes each were hard, thin slither of a parsnip I had was raw. I had hardly any veg! Must of been 1/4 of a carrot. Had the trio of meat and was over cooked. Really disappointed with the service and the food. I did email and advise them but 3 days on and no response so here we are

9.2.2022 Saying goodbye to an amazing Father and Husband is hard enough but the care that the staff of The Hare and Hounds put into the wake made a hard day more bearable. The food was amazing, quantities more than enough. The staff were brilliant, and so lovely. We gave them photos to put out and they were set up so perfectly, no one could have done a better job. Thank you is not enough.

Sunday lunch was a choice of several meats - we both chose the roast lamb. The lamb was very good as were the roast potatoes. I think that the prefusion of cooking programmes an the TV have had a disastrous effect on local chefs in that vegetables seem to be best served raw. The parsnips defied every attempt at cutting and the carrots fared little better. I don't object to a little "bite" but please please PLEASE at least cook the things. Despite the excellent staff and great service, I can only rise to three stars because of the dreadful vegetation. Sorry guys.
