The room was spacious enough, and the location was absolutely superb, offering an unobstructed view of the Bund right across the street. It's right next to Binjiang Park, so you just cross the road and you're by the river. Super Brand Mall is right next door, and the Pudong Art Museum is also very close. There are plenty of dining options nearby as well. Whether you're in a car or walking, the 'Three Piece Set' (Shanghai Tower, Jin Mao Tower, and Shanghai World Financial Center) is constantly in view. The breakfast was incredibly rich and diverse.

The only reason I didn't give a perfect score is because there was no bidet.

Outstanding four-night stay – impeccable service and perfect Jing’an location

I recently stayed four nights at the Jing An Shangri-La, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The staff were consistently warm, professional, and attentive—nothing was too much trouble. The gym is very well equipped, and the swimming pool is lovely and relaxing, perfect after a busy day in Shanghai. The location in Jing’an is ideal, within easy walking distance to several major malls, restaurants, and transport links.

What really stood out was the service after I checked out: I accidentally left an item behind, and the team quickly arranged to send it back to Hong Kong for me.

I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return

A perfect experience.

The hotel room was very spacious, with a sofa and a coffee table. The bathroom had a wet/dry separation, with a separate shower and a large bathtub.

I really liked that the room had independent air conditioning, allowing for free temperature control. After scanning a QR code, the TV could be used with a specific app for screen mirroring.

Although takeout couldn't be delivered directly to the room for safety reasons, the takeout locker was right next to the elevator bank. And with six elevators, the response time was incredibly fast, with an average wait time of no more than five seconds, which was very convenient. The in-room dining also deserves a mention; there was something available to order all day. I especially enjoyed the Hainanese chicken rice and Yangzhou fried rice.

The hotel is connected to Taikoo Li and is less than a 10-minute walk to the Oriental Sports Center, making its location extremely convenient.

Overall, everything was excellent. The guest relations team, Serena, Hedy, Nataly, Victoria, Amily, Sharon, Josie, and Mia, provided round-the-clock service, which was very thoughtful. I will definitely consider staying here again in the future.

The ultimate hotel at Hongqiao Airport, and it truly lives up to its reputation. My son really wanted to see planes up close. We'd previously stayed in a runway view room at the Marriott, which was great. This time, we booked the Shangri-La Executive Airport View Suite. It's an approximately 88-square-meter, linear layout with floor-to-ceiling windows directly facing the runway. You get an unobstructed view of planes taking off and landing – wings soaring through clouds during the day, and golden-edged sunsets in the evening. It's truly a sight you never get tired of.

The most pleasant surprise was the soundproofing – the hotel uses four layers of soundproof glass. Lying in bed, you can't hear any plane noise at all, and I slept unexpectedly soundly.

The suite comes fully equipped:

🛏️ Master bedroom + separate living room. The bedding is noticeably superior to standard rooms.
🍳 Washing machine, microwave, and induction cooktop are all provided, perfect for longer stays.
🚿 Master bathroom + guest bathroom with double showers, Hansgrohe showerheads + Dyson hairdryer.
☕ Capsule coffee machine + direct drinking water dispenser + complimentary minibar.
📺 65-inch TV + JBL audio + smart room controls.

As the world's first all-Horizon Club hotel, all rooms include executive lounge privileges. The Horizon Club Lounge on the 12th floor is the heart of it all:

Breakfast: Lanxi beef noodles, freshly wrapped wontons, Donghe roubing (meat pastry), Youbu soy milk – authentic Jiangnan flavors.
Afternoon Tea: Starts at 2:30 PM, perfect for watching planes by the window and relaxing.
Happy Hour: Starts at 5:30 PM, with fried rice, BBQ meats, and special cocktails. If you don't have high culinary demands, it can easily serve as dinner.

And the location is a true game-changer – direct access to the departure level of T2. If you have an early morning flight, you're practically there upon arrival. Just a two-minute walk with your luggage to check-in. They also provide a quick security check pass for the dedicated Channel 5 at T2 domestic departures.

💡 Minor drawbacks: The hot water pressure was a bit low, and there weren't many Western options at breakfast. But these are minor issues; it's hands down the best choice for a layover in Hongqiao or catching an early morning flight.

Service: The service is top-notch, always putting guests first. I hope the Horizon Club can include a complimentary mini-bar in the future.

HORIZON CLUB | Includes afternoon tea, happy hour, and exclusive check-in entrance (benefits for registered guests): The food selection is rich, with hot dishes available. Excellent! Although the quantity isn't huge, the taste is superb.

Facilities: Fantastic. Very new. The only thing is you have to walk up one flight of stairs to get to the 21st floor. I suggest the hotel considers a renovation, though I understand it might be difficult.

Cleanliness: Impeccable.

The only minor flaw is that the bottled water is Ice Dew. This doesn't match the hotel's caliber at all.

Everything else is top-tier for a five-star hotel.

Environment: Impeccable.

The family room is quite spacious for Beijing, which is known for its high property prices. The facilities and equipment are a bit outdated, which isn't what I remember from Shangri-La hotels. This trip was a bit disappointing; my child woke up with mite bites all over their skin and kept complaining about the itch. This shows the hotel didn't clean the beds properly and needs improvement in this area. However, the hotel staff's service was excellent and very warm. My parents had trouble connecting to the Wi-Fi, and with just one phone call, staff came and stayed until it was connected and working. This deserves praise! Also, the hotel lobby features a piano solo in the evenings, which is a nice touch and should definitely be kept.

🧻 **Hygiene:** Public areas were clean and well-maintained. The room was also generally tidy, though I didn't scrutinize every detail.

🛁 **Facilities:** The hotel opened 10 years ago, and while the facilities appear well-maintained, they are generally quite old. The shower and toilet areas were dimly lit, and there was no smart toilet. There were few power outlets by the bed, and I had to search for the switch for the bedside lamp near the bulb. The electric sheer curtain switch was by the window, which was inconvenient from the bed. If driving, you have to park in the China World Mall underground parking lot, which costs 10 yuan/hour.

🧊 **Environment:** The hotel has a unique location. Although I didn't stay in a room facing east towards the CBD, the view south towards Yintai and Guomao Bridge was also good. This environmental rating is mainly for the location and height. The lobby is very quiet, giving a sense of being removed from the hustle and bustle. The air conditioning in the public areas on the room floors was too cold; perhaps it's to accommodate foreign guests, but I personally didn't like it.

👤 **Service:** There was no doorman to greet me at the ground floor entrance. Before going up to the 64th-floor lobby for check-in, no one informed me that a room card was needed to access the lobby floor. No one guided me upon arrival either; it was purely self-service, which made for a rather unremarkable experience. Turndown service was already prepared when I entered the room. All guest rooms come with executive privileges; the basic room type is essentially an executive room, with no separate executive floor distinction. The minibar offered a good variety, but everything was chargeable. Iris Shang, who handled my checkout, was efficient and had a pleasant demeanor, providing excellent service – a definite highlight.

🍽️ **Dining:** I arrived too late to experience the afternoon tea and happy hour, and I also didn't get up for breakfast. Before leaving, I took a look at the lounge on the 80th floor, and the view was great. Later, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the bananas and ginseng fruit in the welcome fruit basket were delicious and very sweet. I'll look for an opportunity to try the dining options or have a meal at Grill 79 separately next time.

💬 **Summary:** I stayed for one night on a whim. Having never stayed in a tall building in Beijing's CBD, I chose the tallest one, the China World Summit Wing. The location and views are fantastic, but the hotel is generally quite old, and the style feels more business-oriented. After turndown service, there was a small bookmark on the bed with a quote from ”Lost Horizon” that coincidentally mentioned ”Shangri-La.” If interpreted as the hotel brand, it's a bit... hahaha.

Extremely satisfied with our short getaway experience in Western Beijing! From the moment we checked in, Yolanda, the receptionist, was beautiful, enthusiastic, and lovely. She was very patient in pointing out important details since I was checking in with two elderly people. Thumbs up! 👍

The hotel environment is super comfortable, perfect for family and friends gatherings. The location is excellent, making it incredibly convenient to explore the vast Shougang Park. All attractions are just a short distance from the hotel.

The room was clean and tidy, and the housekeeping service was prompt, thoughtful, and patient. 👏 I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit! ✌️

The location is excellent, right across the road from the station via an underpass. However, it would have been perfect if someone could have offered an umbrella at the subway exit on a rainy day.

The service was great; they upgraded us to a room with a fantastic view.

The breakfast was plentiful, and the restaurant ambiance was good.

The hygiene was clean and tidy.

Didn't have time to experience the ancillary facilities.

Loved my entire stay with my husband! It’s my first time in China and we opted to explore Futien in Shenzhen as our first stop just to familiarize myself with the area.

The location of the hotel was perfect, literally walking distance from the high speed train station, which we appreciated.
Our room had an incredible view and the space inside the room was huge! The bathroom had a tub, we had a walk in closet and had a very comfortable bed. The temperature upon entering the rom was also perfect - can’t say that abt other hotels!

We opted to include breakfast buffet as part of our stay - and it did not disappoint. The selection and quality of food exceeded our expectations and all staff were very friendly, the ones we came across were so warm, friendly, and very accommodating!

Thank you Shangrila Futien for the most perfect first time in China experience. ♥️

Simply perfect! 😍
The service was excellent, and I spent the whole day enjoying the Executive Lounge. The small desserts looked unassuming but were surprisingly delicious! I highly recommend them! However, the coffee was awful, both at breakfast and in the Executive Club.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The minibar was chargeable, but the complimentary snacks were all very tasty.

I don't know the brand of the conditioner, but it felt really good to use. They even gave me a set of samples when I checked out.

This time, I tried the swimming pool, and it was perfect! 😍 There were very few people. I had an hour of uninterrupted swimming before a handsome guy arrived, so I had the whole pool to myself, hehe. The steam room was also very comfortable. 😌
