Herdersbrug Youth Hostel

Staff were delightful and accommodating. I mentioned on the booking form that I was vegan and they prepared suitable breakfast options for me. The rooms are very basic, but clean and tidy, with very comfortable mattresses. The pillows are a little insubstantial, as are the blankets, so if this bothers you, probably worth bringing your own — it was fine for me. It was nice weather so I did the two hour walk from Bruges city centre, but there were long sections without a proper pavement, just a grassy verge, so would probably recommend the bus (that was the fault of Apple Maps not the hostel, which provides clear instructions on the bus to take!). I would stay here again!

Its a very nice place if you are going into a trip with friends. The rooms are big and austere, just for staying are correct. The breakfast was a bouffet. Staff very friendly, and avaliable in a lot of languages!

the most rude breakfast woman i ever met! screaming and shooting,totaly disrespectful,feels like a prison,with cameras in every corner. discrimination for people with a handicap,carparkplaces for handicap occupied with the cars of the staff.breakfast is the cheapest unfresh food that they can buy. check-in staff incorrect,i ask to pay back my breakfast after a few days,because of the stressful and rude behaviour of the breakfast woman/staff as i could not take it any more.Manuel (check in staff) sais 4.50€ pay back. Other staff payed me 5€ back. No heating the first night. a plastic uncomfortable mattress and a plastic pillow,only 1 little thin old dirty blanket.Shower is attached on the sealing2 meters high,or extremely hot or extremely cold. All pictures on the booking-site or not the realty at all.It is just a cheap and old and unwelcoming place.There is no half pension,no diners,not any request is possible. The full staff forget that people or guests and should be treated like guest!

it is nice place to stay for some nights with a nice terras, value for money, good breakfast, good beds, clean room, place in the middle of nowhere so you need a car to travel around ;-) the only thing that didn't work well was the automatic dispenser for drinks, and it was in German with Belgian ID, I wonder if they loved the Germans during WW2.

This youth hostel is ideal when doing a bike trip in Belgium around Brugge (Bruges). It is easy to access, comfortable, the dormitories of 6 can be booked as individual rooms as well and they are all equipped with shower and toilet. The breakfast is fabulous for the price. I Highly recommend this youth hostel

nice quiet place with breakfast! the staff is amazing, really helpful. The beds are not really confortable but still clean place. Shower and restroom in the room. I was alone in my room, not really occupied place. Perfect if you're coming by car, there's a parking. The dining room is big and there's some table outside and a rive, nice view!

Nice, out-of-the-way place with friendly, helpful staff and a good breakfast included. Shower and room were all very clean. The building echoes quite a bit, so I would recommend packing earplugs in case other guests are loud. I really enjoyed the 40-minute walk to/from Lissewege train station, and the bus service to the centre of Brugge was good as well.

I can recommend this hostel to everyone who would like to feel the hostel-experience by himself. The price is right and the location is awesome because most of the enjoyable destinations are in close proximity to the facility. The staff ist friendly and professional and the hostel has a wide arrangement of things you can do there.
