I always forget to write review when I get home so I thought I’d write this one while I was here. I was advised that the are wasn’t safe at night but I personally felt extremely safe and comfortable as a long female traveller. I did however err on the side of caution and opt for Ubers at night and made sure to be back before dark. The neighbourhood did appear a bit run down, however 24-7 reception at the hotel provided reassurance and staff were nice and helpful. Stayed in a spacious private room, albeit not meticulously clean—found a hair and biscuit crumbs In the sofa. I liked that you could request when you wanted your room cleaned though. As the hotel is a conveyed factory, noise carries. The room noise is echoey and it’s not uncommon to hear children running down the hallway or cleaners cleaning the rooms. Neither of which disturbed my sleep and I’m a light sleeper. Good budget options for families or large groups due to ample communal spaces like kitchen, bar, and games area and the option to book one room to share. The bed was comfortable, but pillows were too flat, resulting in a stiff neck after two nights. Great location, around a 30-minute walk to Grand Place and 20 minutes to Sainte Catherine. However, disliked the lack of control over room temperature—in the room. I found the room either too hot or cold and the air as VERY dry even with the temperature control on the radiator. Approximately an hour from the airport, with the nearest metro being Comte le Flandres, get off at exit 2, facing the canal, then turn right and it’s a 10-minute walk to the hotel.
