Historic for sure ! However, I would describe this as a Hostel rather than a B&B. We shared one bathroom with 4 other rooms - 12 quests total. Clean towels were scarce as was the TP. Our neighbors bought TP and paper towels at food lion to share with the guests. It’s a shame they aren’t able to manage this property locally - it could possibly be nice?!? . Please be aware - there are communal Bathrooms that are VERY dated and not that clean. wish I could be more positive but this was not a pleasant stay.

Thoroughly disappointing. That's the only way I can describe Maysville Manor B&B/Hotel/Hostel. Upon arriving we ascended the somewhat rickety (but historic!) stairs to the second floor to our large, clean, and tastefully decorated room. There are five rooms on the second floor serviced by one bathroom. But that was OK-ish because it was historic! The library upstairs had a copy of Emily Post's "Etiquette" proudly displayed on the table with lamp - this is gonna be a high brow kinda joint, thinks I to myself... Nah... Not even close! First thing that I noticed was that upon arrival we were not greeted by the host or hostess, or anyone for that matter. Instead I received a text telling me the 'hidden' location of our room key, which we retrieved and entered the establishment through the wide open front door. During the evening there was, what can only be described as, a boisterous group of approx. 12 people in the dining room downstairs directly below our room. Their boisterity continued well into the night making even watching a movie on our laptop nigh-on impossible. This racket finally died-down about 11 PM and we proceeded to try to sleep on a mattress that was about a decade past it's sell-by date. But the coup de grace was the 'Continental Breakfast' the next morning. I have stayed in B&B's on several continents and had Continental Breakfasts in nearly the same number of places. But never have I experienced one that consisted of two over-ripe bananas, several oranges of the same ripeness, cold cereal (as in, kept in the refrigerator cold!), do-it-yourself coffee with no directions as to where the coffee cups were, three packets of artificial sweetener and a coffee creamer jug with about 1/2 oz of (warm!) creamer in it. And again - no sign of a Host or Hostess. I wish that I could be more complimentary, I really do, but my duty is to speak the truth and forewarn other travelers so they do not find themselves in this place.

The proprietor was not there to check us in. She never showed up. Left the exterior keys to the front door on the kitchen island. One of the guests showed us where the keys were and said the proprietor had back surgery. There were no individual keys for the room, though you could lock it from the inside when you went to sleep. Was unaware that guests shared bathrooms. But the setting and house were beautiful in a rural setting. Beautiful scenery. The other guests were nice people. But we came in front a women's retreat that was held just down the street at 11 p.m. and all the doors were unlocked. We locked them before we headed up to our room. The breakfast was nothing special. Sugary cereals in the refrigerator and generic yogurt. There was no decaf coffee and few teas.

Attractive house and property. Beautiful rooms. Restful sleep on good beds a stormy night. And nice conversations with the owners.

The manor and grounds are peaceful. Didn’t see staff, but she was pleasant on the phone. The only problem was there was no breakfast items except cereal (didn’t see milk) and the bathroom was water logged by another guest. Floor was soaked, including rugs. Disgusting, otherwise very quaint.

This is a historic home converted into a B & B. The owners have clearly placed an emphasis on "charm" and keeping it meticulously clean. Our room was a bedroom and shared bathroom, but there are other options available. Breakfast was simple "grab & go" items. For those challenged with stairs, I would recommend contacting the owners for the more accessible options.

The building has loads of character and sense of history. The unique layout is very intriguing.

The house itself was beautiful, however we had an issue with the size of the beds. The information on our room said sleeps 3 comfortably. The beds were extremely small - my husband ended up having to sleep on the hard wood floor as there was not enough room in the beds for two of us. We ended up having to get a hotel room for the 2nd nights stay and the owner did not offer a refund of any type after I called and explained our issue. Super disappointed!
