We had a great stay here. Some people have commented about the road along to the hotel but we found it fine and it was always our plan to park the car there and do walks from the hotel. The reception staff, on this occasion a female but the male staff member is equally as nice were lovely. Plenty of parking at the hotel. We had a superior room so good size, plenty of space and storage, nice windows and good view of the pool, gardens and hills beyond. We were half board. The food got progressively better as the days passed. The Sunday night, starter was good but both main dishes were lukewarm to be kind, dessert was good, next night food was warming up and by Tuesday night hurrah, dinner was hot. There is a good selection, the best main was the pork. Breakfast is very good, with a good selection. The staff are all very pleasant at breakfast and dinner, the guy with the beard who does, bar, restaurant and sometimes breakfast was particularly good. Again different chef, different standards, scrambled eggs on the Tuesday, nicely presented, Monday and Wednesday, chucked on a plate and on the Wednesday hardly beaten with big bits of egg yolk through it, Tuesdays chef if it’s someone different is definitely better. We did some long walks from the hotel, there is so much to explore in the national park, the scenery is beautiful. I really enjoyed our stay, I enjoyed the food even if there was the odd thing, staff were great, scenery amazing and it felt a special place, nice to be away from towns and cities.

A lovely alround experience, from the booking to the checkout. The location is beautiful, sitting in the middle of a pine forest at 1400 metres. The room was lovely with a balcony. the gardens are lovely too.

This a fabulous location placed quite remotely with the mountains and hills near Cazorla. It is quite a drive from the nearest town/village along a winding narrow road but there are fabulous views on the way. The property is clean and well maintained with good and appropriate facilities - parking, WiFi, pool, views, bar, and restaurant. The bar and restaurant extends onto a spacious terrace with great views. The pool is good but hours are a bit limited for my personal liking (11.00 opening in morning seems very late). The staff here are all fantastic. Everyone I met from reception, at bar and restaurant, and the housekeepers were smiling, friendly, helpful and efficient; their warmth felt genuine and not forced. We had a great time! Many thanks to all there.

The Parador de Cazorla is a bit older than most of the other paradores, however it has it‘s own charm and atmosphere of a hunting villa in the mountains. If you are aware of and fine with the fact that the rooms are not new or renovated, you can have a good time there and use it as a starting point for stunning hiking tours in the Sierra de Cazorla. Very good is the breakfast and the restaurant, although the area is famous for its meat dishes, the also offer some pretty good vegeterian dishes (of course the meat dishes are also very good :). The staff is very kind and attentive.

PET FRIENDLY, NOT SO MUCH!!! Reserved a room in this parador May 16 2023 traveling with our dog. This Parador advertises as Pet Friendly and having stayed here years ago(without our dog) and liked it very much, we thought we would repeat.Although they did send us their terms of stay with pets, we did not read them having stayed in many 4 and 5 star hotels and it has never been a problem. One can expect that a dog is not allowed in the restaurant or the lounge which we fully understand but we have allways been able to dine outside or simply enjoy a beer or wine and some tapas on an outside terrace but this hotel took us by surprise. Upon arrival, we checked in and were handed a document which we had to sign, the rules of stay for pets. Dogs are not allowed anywhere in the hotel except the hotel room and transit areas to the rooms. They are not allowed on the outside bar/restaurant terrace or gardens. When guests are in the restaurant for breakfast/lunch or dinner, you are expected to lock your pet in the bathroom. At other times you cannot leave your pet unattended in the room. When you book a room in a parador, you are supposedly booking a stay for the experience, be it for special dining or enjoying the stay in special surroundings. With these (rediculous stringint ) rules this is made impossible as you are not able to enjoy the surroundings, gardens pools or bar as you literally have to lock yourself as a guest in the room during your stay with your pet and are only allowed out during dining ,unless offcourse one wonders out to other restaurants or a bar with an outside terrace which by law is allowed anywhere in spain and to be honest ,we have never experienced a refusal anywhere in the 45 years that we live in Spain now . We had a look at the room which did not at all live up to the standard of the rest of the hotel in which we have stayed before, aparently, guests with pets are offered the smallest and worst rooms in a seperate wing just for this purpose,It was smelly and dark. We cancelled on the spot but we were charged the full room rate @ €105 allthough we did not stay . Offcourse it states in their terms and conditions that canceling a reservation within 48 hours of the stay ,the full rate will be charged to your card, in this case I believe it is beyond reasonable. If you have a pet, I highly reccommend you avoid this place!! I honestly do not understand why you would want to stay here if it is made impossible to enjoy the place. I rate this hotel a zero

Certain things strike you as you reach the parador. Before arriving, there is the drive through beautiful scenery. On arriving, there is the warm welcome. You are struck by the compactness of the parador, but the expansiveness of the grounds. You note the faint smell of homely wood smoke in the lounge, with its magnificent views and cosy interior. If you stay for at least two nights - as you should - you will be able to go walking with the aid of the hiking sticks available in the room before returning to the comfort of the bar and its terrace to unwind. In all, you will not be disappointed. Perhaps the only thing that may surprise those who have never been is that the parador is denominated Cazorla after the mountain range (the Sierra) rather than the town.

This is a beautiful hotel in the mountains with beautiful countryside on its doorstep. We enjoyed a welcome drink on the terrace overlooking the mountains and ate in the wonderful restaurant. Our room was basic but had all we needed and the wifi worked surprisingly well for being up in the mountains. There is a lovely pool and lounge area and great walks nearby. Marina the receptionist was very helpful and recommended good walk in the gorges and riverbed and cliff paths.
