Important to know that this hotel has changed totally from the earlier reviews. The 1 star is for the room, 0 stars for the "restaurant" There is no friendly or unfriendly reception, no good or bad service - simply no reception or service whatsoever. Phone details are posted on the locked door to call on arrival. Then you are texted a code to enter the building, a code for the key box and a code for the lift/stairs to your room! Our room itself was ok - small but reasonably comfortable. The restaurant is no longer a restaurant and an ex- bar offers a wall of self-service machines from which you can buy cold plates of poor quality food that you can warm up in provided microwaves. Most of the advertised dishes were not available. Cold soft drinks and one beer option but no wine at all. Pre-payment by card. You are asked to clear up and wipe your table after use Breakfast is in the room that used to be the restaurant and was basic but not bad, just over-priced. We were there on a Monday night and found no other eating options so I guess that food-wise it was slightly better than eating nothing at all - but only just!

There was noone at reception on arrival. The overall appearance of the hotel was tired, neglected and dirty. The outdoor swimming pool had a film of algi over it. I had received a WhatsApp message in French telling g me the code numbers to enter the hotel and code numbers to access areas of the hotel. The reception are was dirty and dusty. The carpets leading to the bedrooms was worn and again dirty. I managed to contact a member of staff who basically said they could not get staff on a Sunday and the koel was what it was. We refused to stay and left. I wouldn't advise anyone to book this hotel and it was more like a hostel for the homeless. They should not be allowed to advertise on accomodation booking site

This place shouldn't really be classified as a hotel, it's old and decrepit, the reception when we arrived was inaccessible, we weren't given any information by email on how to access it and the lady who eventually opened the door only spoke French so we interpreted various codes to access the lift, the front door and the room. The furnishings are anything from 20-40 years old, the room was beyond basic with no air conditioning and upon leaving the window open to be able to sleep all we could hear all night long was the TV from the vitual restaurant downstairs (3 floors down) that is open for people to pay minimum €10 for microwave meals that you heat and eat yourself. There is no comfort to be had here - I mistakingly believed some of the better reviews but please don't and give this place a wide berth - stay anywhere else. We did find a lovely restaurant within the town which was good for a Sunday evening but the hotel we could have done without. Just to say even access to the pool is strange, you have to walk out the front door, onto the Main Street, round the corner, past piles of rubble and rubbish and dog mess and through a garden into a pool that we had to Clean ourselves. A strange terrible place.

We had a very unexpected stay at this hotel due to a vehicle breakdown. Unfortunately due to french President the hotels etc were asked to close. AA breakdown assisted us and also a very helpful french taxi driver. We were a party of 4 having 2 disabled passengers and also a dog. On arrival the hotel was closed and after the taxi drove us elsewhere we returned on his instance that someone opened!! Don't know what we would have done! This is a very large and probably in its day a grand establishment. All aspects need updating, but we were grateful of their help. Food and drinks was limited due to forsceen closure. The bedrooms very basic. Shower were ok but as said all things need updating. Prices were above average for what you got. Not much to do in village ( covid) closed most things, but we found a lovely kebab shop, which was really good. Staff were limited, all in all we had 4 nights which we hadn't planned. Ps.. this was the only available property to us. Evening meal and breakfasts all extra. €378 2people 4 nights.
