To quote a fellow guest "...this is the best hotel in Pakistan that I have stayed at...". For me that may be an understatement! Everything, yes just everything about this little gem of a place tucked away in the remote north west corner of Pakistan is fabulous. From the tastefully appointed rooms with a view to the exquisite dining hall and cozy fireside living room one feels the charm of the wonderful ambience created through an exceptional labour of love by the owners, Siraj ul Mulk and his wife Ghazala and their daughters - a truly family affair. I first visited this hotel in 1998 just after it's inauguration, again in 2002 and now in March/April 2024 after 22 years! Like good wine, it only keeps improving with age! I won't go into details about rooms, service, cuisine, etc. you can read about that in all the other reviews on TA. All I can say is that you won't find a more attentive and friendlier team of people trying to make your stay a memorable one anywhere else in Pakistan or for that matter in the world. From the superb Hotel Manager, Quaid e Azam at the reception to the ever smiling Iqbal in charge of the dining hall and all the other members of the team, it is impeccable service with a smile from check in to check out. Thank you so much Siraj and Ghazala for making our stay at HKH an experience of a lifetime!

Excellent stay in a traditional set up with an amazing host (the owner who is also a prince for the local royal family). the rooms are spacious and the view is breathtaking. the decor is local and the food served is yummy (make sure you book for food as it will be prepared specially for you). employees are very kind and polite and will do everything they can t make you happy. Only issue is the difficulty to make a reservation, you have to go to the hotel website as Bookings and Tripadvisor won't be able to help you with the booking. but the website usually gives you a quick response.

We had a really lovely and cozy time in this very special hotel, which is built inside the slop of the mountain. Each room has a spectacular view of the Chitral valley and nearby HinduKush mountain range. The decor is outstanding, curated beautifully so that each moon and cranny of the hotel has a little special surprise. The food at the restaurant was also quite good and the staff was very attentive and polite. Some trip highlights for us: Siraj Saab, the owner of the hotel, made us feel so incredibly welcome. He shared stories about his childhood, how he built the hotel, some of the interesting flights he’d taken. After learning that it was my mother’s birthday, he made sure to have his staff bake her a delicious cake. He also told one of the hotel staff, a soft spoken man named Shakoor, to guide us during a walk around the mountains in his property. Shakoor was a delight— a font of information, really patient with us, and would be sure to point out things that we would never have noticed otherwise. Highly recommend this place for a stay!

Though we've been back in the UK for a while now the memory of our super special stay remains at the forefront of my mind. We loved our stay at the Hindu Kush Heights Hotel - an oasis of calm and serenity, a beautifully run hotel with absolutely delicious and memorable food, beautiful views of the Chitral valley, comfortable rooms, delightful and interesting furnishings but best of all the totally charming staff and wonderful and caring owners - Siraj and Ghazala. We cannot wait to go back. Sally and Andrew

Good things first: Staff is very hospitable, welcoming and friendly Location of hotel is very nice It's clean Not good: It's frozen in time. It had almost same furniture, rugs, hangings etc as it had 20 years back when I visited last. from what i remember, nothing changed or replaced. Room door latches missing, terrace floor seems to have not been polished or maintained since decades, so were the plants pots in terrace. Food menu is problem when traveling with family. They have fixed menu which they don't adjust even if you request them to, and Not even make it on order even if you tell them well in advance, rather they tell off their guest to go to a restaurant manage by them , which is a few kilometers down the hill, ( you need a car for that,) and since we had our car and driver available with us so we would go to that restaurant whenever we needed. They have two big dogs sitting leisurely in main lobby, which is not appropriate at all. Once one of the dog even stood up and barked at my kids when they were approaching the lobby from their rooms. Apparently Owners family was always around, and it felt like you are not totally living in a hotel but someone private property. Not going there back again.

beautiful surroundings and views in a tranquil setting. The food was absolutely fresh and delicious. I loved the view from the balcony overlooking the Chitral airport and plains below. The testimonials of famous happy guests are everywhere, as are interesting books and momentos about the area. Well worth a visit !

I could not recommend this hotel more. We had the most wonderful experience, hospitable, comfortable and delicious food . I wish I had the words to describe how truly charming and kind the family who run the hotel are. They and their team of experienced staff worked diligently to make our stay the trip of a lifetime that it turned out to be.

By far one of the most luxurious accommodations I have experienced up North. The rooms were spacious with breath taking views with modern bathrooms. The staff were well spoken, courteous and extremely efficient. The owners are also extremely knowledgeable and very hands on. It felt like I was visiting a college friends home rather than a hotel. The entire experience was curated incredibly well and the personal touches were evident especially in the restaurant. Celebrity Chef Natasha Qazalbash is not to be missed. The food was on par with top end Karachi eateries and Natasha was always on hand to discuss where the ingredients were sourced from and her inspirations for various dishes. I came for a sound bowl retreat with Amafahs Asanas and everything ran very smoothly and overall the meditation, location, food and hotel meshed together for an incredible experience!
