The good stuff: The owner was friendly and chatted with us while he checked us in. We rented 2 rooms and saw no bugs at all in either room. The rose bushes on this property are beautiful. The rooms are fairly spacious. The bed/mattress looked fairly new. The building has a rather nostalgic feel. No one bothered us and we felt safe enough. Very good lighting. Not a single bulb was out on the entire property (I notice such things ha ha) The A/C was great. It ran quietly/consistently and it didn't clunk on and off. The not so good stuff: Lets get the train out of the way. Train horns blew by every 30 minutes or so all night long. This is in no way the fault of the management though. Just bring ear plugs. The tub was too gross to shower in and the towels were sandpaper. No coffee in one room and no coffee pot in the other. One room had very dirty beat up blinds that didn't fit the window. When we touched them they fell down so we hung the bedspread up over the window. The remote control didn't work. The worst part was that the bed frame was bigger than the mattress so a metal bar stuck out from the bottom of the bed. I whacked my leg on it so hard! Overall: A little attention to detail could go a long with this property. It's got a ton of potential. Better use could be made of the basketball court with no nets. It could be a super cute place.
