"Staff could not do enough, friendly, helpful and approachable. One minor issue, the shower in room 35 is only a hand shower even though there is a shower screen in place. Not sure why the shower head is not in a higher position on the wall. That is our only niggle. Over all a lovely two days."

"Beautiful and pleasant establishment ideally located 20 minutes walk from the center of DIEULEFIT. The new owners are accessible and friendly. I hope they succeed in their new family project, however, being hoteliers is not something you can improvise. They would indeed deserve to gain in professionalism and know how to surround themselves with competent staff (the waiter in particular did not know what a mint diabolo was, or again, two days in a row my bed was surprisingly remade in a very very approximate way as a child might do "quickly" ...). Some room doors could be planed to reduce the noise they cause when opening and closing. The pool is clean and a real asset on hot days. The immediate surroundings of the pool could nevertheless be better maintained. The purchase of additional mattresses would be appreciated so that each deckchair can have one, especially since the latter are aging. Wishing to give the new owners a chance, I will undoubtedly return to the ESCARGOT D'OR if the opportunity arises, hoping however that the services have improved in the meantime."

"Great hotel that is pet friendly. Needed a place travelling north. Off the motorway, had covered parking and was accepting pets. Rooms were clean and spacious. Decent size bathroom with shower. They offered a pet fee but included a goody bag with poo bags, a toy rope and chew bone."

"The setting in a large park added to the charm of this nicely renovated château. We stayed in a junior suite. A large terrace and nice swimming pool are especially nice during summer time. A lot of nice villages also with nice restaurants close by."
