We stayed at the hurricane as it is centrally located for various attractions. The room is faultless it’s clean and comfortable with excellent facilities genuinely cannot fault the room the reception staff were polite informative and helpful. The only issue we had has been the breakfast! It’s beyond words how disorganised and disgusting the whole experience is we cannot advice strongly enough to find alternative! The breakfast is held in the very very small breakfast room, there are very limited tables no space and very very poor choice! When we arrived there was a sign asking for guests to wait to be seated, so we did, two other couples ignored this and found tables, we waited, caught the eye of the lady serving, got ignored! So eventually sat down at a table. At no point were we or the other 6 guest couple and families approached to ask for our room number or even confirm we had paid for breakfast! On approaching the very small breakfast area there were no pancakes no muffins no white or wholemeal bread, the butter and jams selection had not been replenished the coffee had run out the pure fruit juice was cordial. The breakfast selection was poor and unpleasant! Whilst seated eating toast a gentleman took two bags of waste through the restaurant which was beyond disgusting! We advised the lady serving that the breakfast was poor and disappointing she shrugged it off and say oh sorry! We went to reception to complain and ask for a refund on the following days breakfast as it was so awful for the receptionist to say she needed to speak to the manager for the same lady we had expressed disappointment too about the breakfast to arrive??? Completely clueless and completely disregarding for the fact her service was appalling?? At no point were we asked how it could be improved or what was wrong?? The lady clearly is not an experienced manager! We have booked breakfast at The Shire Horse next door as the meals we have had there during our stay have been amazing! If booking at the hurricane the rooms are great but strongly advise booking breakfast at the shire horse!
