We recently had the opportunity to stay at Beck’s B&B. We can’t say enough positive things about our stay. First, our hosts were amazing. From the moment Robert met us when we arrived, he was incredibly helpful and genuinely friendly, and made us feel welcome. Becky too was genuinely nice, friendly, and welcoming. Robert was extremely knowledgeable about Crooked Trees birdlife and was always ready to answer my questions about birds, in addition to providing local information. He connected us with another lodge so that we could canoe on the lagoon. And, they even provided me with duct tape so that I could package some items for the plane. To me this was huge, especially given the difficulty of getting supplies in Crooked Tree. The upper patio is a wonderful place to have coffee in the morning and enjoy the birds. The adjacent courtyard with feeders and surrounding trees fill with several species of orioles and hummers, while many other species, including parrots, woodpeckers, etc., fly in to join the fray. In the distance you can hear howler monkeys! In addition to the birding near the residence, a walk around the property will yield an abundance of other bird species. We had a dinner and two breakfasts at the B&B. The meals were delicious. Unfortunately, we decided to dine elsewhere in the area our second night, which was a mistake! Although, we didn’t spend much time in the room it was lovely. It was very clean and comfortable and had all the amenities we could need. If you visit Crooked Tree, make sure you stay at Beck’s. You won’t regret it. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay long enough.
