ITZA AMAZING. The hotel is in a great location easy to walk to areas or catch taxis. Restaurants close by. The hotel is beautiful the rooms are spacious and filled with everything you need and more. The staff was so wonderful. They are extremely friendly and helpful. Five stars is not enough fhey need 10. Would recommend and would definitely stay again.

The experience starts the moment you get in the lobby of Itza Hotel. Everything is so beautiful! Each piece and object of this hotel has been tastefully curated. When you get to the rooftop your jaw drops! It is simply gorgeous! The service is amazing and the food is awesome! It’s a place to visit over and over.

My wife and I recently visited the UNESCO World Heritage city of Cuenca, Ecuador. We were on a private tour with the hotels selected by the tour company. They outdid themselves in choosing the Itza which is as nice as boutique hotel as we have stayed in for many years. Firstly, its location a block away from Calderon plaza and the cathedral is excellent. This is especially borne out when you go up to the wonderful rooftop bar Zaza and enjoy the views of the cathedral towers and other churches as you make a 360 degree circuit of the city. The restoration of the building has been done meticulously with many fine touches such as the lounge and the small restaurant. Make sure to get a room with a balcony. There are a few rooms with no windows and these should be avoided. The bathrooms are as nice as you'll find in Ecuador. Large, marble and with heated floors. The Itza is one of the few Ecuadorian hotels that has air conditioning and heat. The staff was very helpful and most had decent English skills, something not that common in Ecuador. The wifi was very good compared to most other Ecuadorian hotels we stayed in. A few English channels are available on the TV. Cuenca is a much more prosperous looking city than Quito and a lot safer for tourists. There is a large ex-pat population here that gives it a feel a bit like places such as San Miguel Allende in Mexico. Don't go to Ecuador without visiting Cuenca. The drive from Quito down the Avenue of the Volcanoes is exceptional. Once you get to Cuenca I cannot recommend the Itza enough. The photos will give a better idea of why we loved this place.

I have never received such warm attention in such a beautiful hotel! The standout feature is the helpful staff. Open for less than a year, this gorgeous and comfortable small hotel is a perfect stay for Cuenca. It is centrally located, the beds and furniture are very comfortable, great bathroom, roomy shower. The hotel has 2 restaurants.

The hotel is newly redone and it is beautiful. The rooms were very comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious. Most importantly, I am allergic to fragrances and they turned off all their scent machines in the building to accommodate me and made sure all the sheets were washed in fragrance free detergents and gave me hypoallergenic pillows. I highly recommend this hotel. The location was in the center of town.

Once enough reviews are published, this hotel will shoot up to the top of the tripadvisor Cuenca hotels list. This hotel was incredible! The owners painstakingly restored an old hotel taking layers of paint off the gorgeous ceilings. The atrium/lobby is stunning and our room was the most comfortable, with a modern bathroom and all the latest amenities (not a small feat in Ecuador!) This hotel would look as gorgeous in any European city. Our tour company booked it for us ,so we didn't have a choice of a room. We had an "inside" room, with no windows, and it was still lovely. I do recommend that you book a windowed room if you book it yourself. The roof bar had awesome views, the breakfast room was lovely and the breakfast was the best on our 10-day trip in Ecuador. The location was great - a few-minute walk to the main square. The hotel was just perfect in every way!

I would like to commend Pablo Vite and Paul Andrade and a young lady (don't know her name. These folks were excellent and assisted with a problem I had with a cell phone. They went above and beyond!!

What an incredible property. The staff, especially Anna Maria, were all superior. The breakfast staff was equally incredible. Wonderful room - we had a suite with a view of the domes. Beautiful. The food was excellent. The location was PERFECT! In the center of El Centro. The rooftop lounge afforded an unbelievable view of most all of Cuenca. We love boutique hotels and this one shined like the sun. We were so blessed to have found this property, and will return again when in Cuenca. It just doesn’t get any better than this. We stayed a week and loved every minute of our stay. Thank you to the incredible staff.

Gennaro is great with the customers and to remember and greet you personally you each time that you visit. They are all very friendly with their great service, and the food it very good, including their hamburguesas de queso y hamburguesa ZAZA.
