The location is very good, looking west to see the most beautiful sunset and sunset in Darwin, the facilities are complete, **, Italian, Chinese, swimming pool..., the front desk service is warm and thoughtful, the room is clean and tidy, facing the lagoon pool, the indoor area is big enough. The disadvantage is that the door from the room into the bathroom is too thick, every time the in and out will automatically close, trouble and close the door momentarily loud. When the checkout, I knew that the mineral water in the minibar was charged, but housekeeping and the waiter who checked the minibar entered the room and said it was free. As a result, four bottles were charged 24 Australian dollars when the checkout was done. I was too lazy to talk to the front desk about the theory. I felt that I was also seeing people. The nice guy takes the money. It is best not to include breakfast in the reservation, because there are several fixed meals (see photo) with breakfast. The drink can be selected for black coffee and English black tea. Never pay attention to the cup that drinks water. Once the cup is not cleaned at all, there are other people eating the residue. Most of the restaurant waiters are Buddhist, busy but lost, the whole wheat bread, the white bread, promised to change after no later, I can think of my own bad luck and leave, this is the best hotel in Darwin. 4-5 thousand RMB per night, but compared with the same price hotels in China, the service is still much checked, and the hotel facilities are a little old.

Frontier Hotel Darwin

Darwin|2.55km from The Local
Spacious room advertised is small. Breakfast buffet advertised does not exist & nowhere close to get it as it’s a fair walk into town.No microwave or hairdryer one mirror in the bathroom so only one person can get ready at a time.No fan in the bathroom so mirror gets foggy and bathroom needs a good scrub. Towels are tiny. Beds ok but can feel springs, pillow flat. Rooms made up if asked Towels have a strange dirty color No apology for bug carcass in the bed and when housekeeping was called to ask about it she said there’d been a problem getting fresh bedding so was it even changed? Receptionist reported to management who we didn’t hear from mind you. Pool is adjacent to beer garden in full view of patrons. Tradies and Yahoos from bar come into the pool area to have loud conversations using very crass language smoking Very uncomfortable using the pool so the young girls and ourselves left and went back to our rooms. Pool area needs ****ing and a good clean pool itself is clean. It wouldn’t take much for it to look a lot better. Friday night went to get drink for pool area and barmaid was naked. Where’s the disclaimer for that when you book your rooms. Can hear phone call in bathroom next door from our bathroom. Rooftop restaurant was closed. They don’t know why or for how long. . There were doors banging all night. Then comes Saturday night. We decided to get meal at the pub part of the accommodation. If you though it was bad so far It’s about to get worse. Just went to order snacks for around the pool and book dinner tonight and it turns out, wait for it, the chef quit, just walked out What an experience one we won’t repeat.

Darwin Poinciana Inn

This place is now called Poinciana Inn, same location. I was arriving after 1am from the airport as many Darwin flights do. I called twice to ask how to get access to my room, didn't get a callback until some time later, the person on the phone said I'd been sent an email days earlier but I checked and I never received it, not even in my spam email, but after the 3rd phone call I sorted out how to access my room after hours. The room itself is small, there's marks on the walls, not much more than a TV and kettle and fridge in the room itself, at least the aircon worked, I don't know how they can justify $123 a night with such a low maintained place, if I'd known it was this badly kept I would've gone to a backpackers hostel instead. It's definitely overpriced for what you get. The bed was comfortable, the pool was lovely, the location is great, that's about it. The ensuite is small, there's maybe 4 powerpoints in the whole place for charging a phone and other things and 2 of those were used by the TV and kettle, and while I was recovering from arriving at 2am I got a knock on my door that same morning from someone wanting to check the maintenance my air conditioning unit. There has to be better places in Darwin CBD than this. Maybe go for Airbnb next time, finding anything under $150 a night is almost impossible unless you're 15 to 30 minutes out of the city.

Hilton Garden Inn Darwin

The staff were welcoming and friendly. Dinushka Goonathalake looked after us very well. Having stayed for a conference a previous week we were most appreciative of a lovely room opening onto the park overlooking the bay on our return from adventuring in Arnem Land. Our room was always fresh and light, the bathroom modern. We appreciated access to open air from the small balcony. A good variety of teas was provided. The atmosphere was relaxed, suiting Darwin's tropical feel. Freshly prepared breakfast on the terrace or indoors and excellent coffee available if desired. Easily accessible morning & evening walks in the park along the bay to town and nearby restaurants was an added bonus.
