Mike's Dauin Dive Resort Reviews

Stayed at Mike's for over a week based on a friend's experience and he was right. Great dive centric resort. Great staff and Dive Masters who found me a ton of awesome macro and things I've never seen before! The night dives especially are terriffic!

We had a wonderful two night stay. Staff treat you like family. From the grounds keeper to the manager everyone treats you well. Mikes was our first stop in the Dauin area. It is close to the Dauin market, walking distance. There is car and motorcycle parking along with laundry services which we were in dire need of. Laundry was done quickly and perfectly.

Nice mid range hotel. The main attraction for us was the diving and the dive team did not disappoint. The accommodation is a bit tired but ok and the included breakfast is very basic and cheap, but all the paid for food is lovely. Dive masters Ace and Gaby and the boat crew are great and the week got better and better.

I have been to this resort many times for scuba diving. The rooms are comfortable the diving is good. The food is varied with Filipino Mexican and American styles. The staff always try their best to help and make your stay memorable. I like the resort because it is not a big resort so you get to know the other guests and the staff get to know you

Our second trip back, and most excellent again (despite the attempts of typhoons to intervene). Once again excellent diving, staff, management, food and accommodation. So much so we have booked our third trip for next year! Keep up the wonderful work.....(special thanks to dive guide Gabby and all the boat crew).

My son & I had a twin room across from the dining room & close to the pool. The staff were attentive & called us by name. It was a relaxing experience. Great opportunities to Dive & snorkel close by as well as at Apo Island. Good selection of food & drinks available. Enjoyable

Amazing stay at this place!! The staff is amazing, they went out of their way to make us feel at home (cheers to Chester and Nathan ❤️ and all the staff and dive crew) We did our PADI Openwater, it was a very good price, excellent equipment and instructor (thank you Daniel!) A real great experience. We must say that the best part of all was Lilo and Puka, the resorts dogs, they were lovely and cute. ¡¡Highly recommended!!

For many years now we like to make divetrips . We have been at so many lovely places, some are better then others. We also have done a lot of divetrips in the Philipines ...but never before we liked the stay so much then @mikes . What can we tell about it? For starters ..the resort ...the location is perfect at the lovely beach, the rooms have everything you need and here it comes...the most important ..you realy feel like coming home ! This is not such a big "factory"-like mega resort with many rooms..no, just a cosy place to stay. Why did we feel so at home..because of the staff ..they all were so friendly, allways with a big smile and they are always ready to help you. we had a lot of fun with them ...they became friends! Then ...the diving ..what can i say about it? This is diving heaven! This is so relaxt diving..the crew and divemasters do everything for you..the only thing you have to do is ..diving ..everything else is taken care of by the crew. And...APO island is realy very very beautiful ..the reefs are so amazing ..we thought that nothing can come close to diving in Raja Ampat ..but we were wrong ..apo island is just as beautiful. Couldn’t recommend mikes resort enough. Diving was amazing, food all prepared from scratch and was delicious, staff are all like one big family and so lovely, very chilled laid back atmosphere and nothing was ever too much to ask. Dive guides were really knowledgable and took us to the best dive sites around dauin and apo island! The owner Mike was also around and took time to chat to all the guests and was very hospitable

After looking at various resorts in the area we chose Mikes, we were not disappointed. The resort is very well presented and kept to a very clean standard. The staff without exception, were very helpful and hospitable, nothing seemed to be to much trouble, and made our stay very relaxing in this calm, quiet and compact environment. We had a late arrival after a long journey, shortly before the kitchen closed but they ensured that we were able to easily check in and get something to eat. The food was all freshly prepared from their menu offering a variety of styles. I dived in the local area with Gabby and his colleagues, all were great and very sharp eyed to spot and show the variety of underwater life. Also to accommodate my very slow diving style. If I were to look for 1 negative, my partner noticed that the water in the bidet hose was stale initially. That aside, it is very difficult to find fault. I would certainly return or recommend.

Faultless The room was excellent, the diving amazing with stellar guides in Ace & Gabi. Food was exceptional especially the breakfast burrito which was so good I ate it for lunch as well! Every member of staff made you feel welcome and they epitomised the phrase ‘Nothing is too much trouble’ I can’t think of a place I’ve visited previously that was perfect in every aspect and I frankly can’t wait to return

Spend a few days here and was treated like I was family. The staff and service are incredible, everyone is super nice and friendly and it’s honestly a place I recommend. Special mention goes to Jessa and Mary Joy were on the bar staff. We had great conversations with them and they were all smiles each night. That’s not to say every other staff member wasn’t exceptional. Place is run very well, would recommend anyone to come here whether it be to dive, have a family getaway or just relax. 10/10

Gave 4 stars only because we had got almost half dives with outsourcing DMs they did their jobs nothing bad but the in-house DMs, Gabby and Acer, are too excellent, rest of half dives we dived with Gabby he turned our dives from black and white to multi colours, thanks Gabby, he is absolutely with Eagle-eyed DM. 👍 Room size is good for 2 persons, comfy bed, huge bathroom another high-light is the super wide corridor, our room was in second floor, they set 2 lounger chairs in front of each room that were perfect for a nap between after lunch and afternoon dive or take a little relax time before have a beer and dinner at evening. The downside were the noise air-conditioned and shower water pressure it is another reason I gave 4 stars. Restaurant and bar also in high standard service I enjoyed every meal in Mike's. Beach and pool with are beautiful, you can enjoy sunshine almost whole day, the beach is covered by huge trees, you can enjoy the shade and sea view.

This is our first time to stay here. Their arrangement of airport pickup was smooth and professional. We had a late check in at resort upon our arrival and staff were very friendly and brought us the dinner menu even though their kitchen was almost closed. Rooms are bright and clean. This is a very relaxing resort where people are gentle with quiet and pleasant environment. We loved to stay around the pool or near the beach when we were not diving. It was relaxing to walk around in the resort to say hi and chat with staff. Food here is excellent. I love chicken taco salad, grilled pork chop and grilled chicken. You will not want to miss their grilled fish and traditional chicken adobo too. Last but not the least, I had a shake every meal. Their mango, pineapple and banana shakes are fresh and tasty. Diving arrangements are smooth and the DMs, Ace and Gabby are really eagle-eyed DMs. They always keep us busy showing us the best underwater creatures. Diving with them was fun and enjoyable. They are passionate and always carry a smile even we made them went home late after night dive! 😄 They are professional and taking great care of us. Boat crews are caring and always offer to help when we had any questions. We will definitely recommend this resort to our friends and those who would like to explore the underwater world of Dauin, Dumaguete.
