La Maison Pavie

What an amazing find on Airbnb... we stayed for just one night on our French road trip but would happily have stayed longer... This is a '15th century 'Tardis' historically beautiful on the outside and sympathetically renovated on the inside with contemporary, chic styling yet still retaining the fabric of the original building. We were welcomed by host Ghislain and shown our cosy room right in the eves of the house... overlooking the square. Perfect for us with a queen sized bed, beautiful linen and a cute 'in room' - ensuite. Breakfast is served buffet style and was a chance to meet and chat to other guests (in the main from the UK and Canada) - food is delicious and fresh. Location is perfect for exploring Dinan as really central (quiet at night and our room overlooked a small square) and at the end of a day exploring you can relax in the courtyard garden with a drink.

We LOVED this hotel. We were traveling in France and mostly stayed in conventional hotels so this place definitely made an impression on us. The building is, as one can see, ancient so it is very much typical of most of medieval Dinan. Our room, however, had every modern convenience and was exceedingly comfortable. Ghislane was a perfect host and has done an excellent job keeping the charm and character of the structure but updating the rooms to be both beautiful and functional. We stayed in the most difficult and least accessible room (one almost needs both hands and feet to get up the stairs) but the effort was WELL worth it. If you book the Luang Prabang room, definitely accept Ghislane’s offer to deliver your luggage to and from the room. We would recommend the hotel to anyone who really wants to experience old France and feel real history along with warm hospitality and a delicious breakfast.

Beautiful room, amazing location, great hosts and a lovely breakfast. The hotel is in an incredible old building in the heart of Dinan. There’s a truly beautiful lounge for the use of guests and the hosts are charming and helpful. Highly recommended!

This is a great place. In fact I bet it’s the best place in Dinan. Ghislain was our house manager and he is delightful. Our room was clean and well appointed, breakfast was plentiful and yummy, and we couldn’t have asked for anything better. Just wish we could have stayed longer.

A fantastic house and location. Our hosts Ghislain and Sophie were extremely friendly and helpful, full of ideas for eating and sites to visit. This is a beautiful old, well maintained property centrally located in the historic city center. It was comfortable and quiet. We woke each morning to the sounds of an owl and bells of the nearby clock tower. We enjoyed the shared living room and dining room spaces. Staff was accommodating but not superior.

This small hotel is just outstanding with just five rooms in a historic building ideally located at the most central cultural spot in Dinan. The rooms, very clean, are just gorgeous with a touch of Cambodian inspired decorative elements. At night, despite its busy location an absolute silence prevailed in the room. The breakfast in typical French style comprising of fresh croissants and bread was blissful. The manager, a young man by the name of Ghislain Colin was constantly seeking to anticipate every possible desire of hotel guests. The restaurant recommendations made by him were flawless. I shall return to this hotel for certain.

Wonderful location, historical building, friendly stuff.

A really lovely and memorable experience. This truly historic e building in has been adapted and offers super accommodation with an abundance of character. Situated in the heart of the old town, but don’t be put off in accessing by car - you can offload luggage right out side the door and Ghislaine will give you easy to find undercover car parking just a couple of hundred metres away. Ghislaine was a wonderful host - nothing was too much trouble - and the breakfast was excellent ! On a trip to Dinan - this is the place to stay - just one word of caution the winding staircases could be a problem for someone with a disability.
