Hotel is run down, broken shower, no water in the loft, dirty carperts and linen. Unappetizing breakfast we were given rooms that were not used in months, found eggshells in my scramble eggs. Blinds in the lofts were dusty.

One can see that this establishment was fantastic in its hay day, but has since fallen into disrepair. The rooms were clean and neat, but the furniture and the room in general shows signs of significant wear and tear. There was also an aircon unit blaring all through the night. The gardens and grounds of the hotel are in a terrible state! The gardens haven't seen water in quite some time. The restaurant and food were fine, but there was an ant infestation close to our table.

The hotel needs proper attention and a good clean. The bedding in the rooms needs to be replaced as it is outdated with holes in them. My pillows inside the cover were so dirty and brown, with dead bug shells in them. On the last night of my stay, there were small spiders in the bed and bathroom. When you order food delivered to your room, it gets delivered with no cutlery. The service at the restaurant is slow. The hotel should also have a proper indication of when there will be load shedding for the guests to properly plan.

What once was a luxury retreat is unfortunately no longer. Poor upkeep of grounds, visible lack of maintenance and general backyard feel is what strikes you when you enter the premises. The unit’ door didn't latch and had to be locked to keep door closed. Toilet had no cover, extraction fan was filthy, room walls had many very visible cracks and cornices detached from walls.

Ruslamere was conveniently situated for my trip. My room was very clean and very pretty too. The WiFi worked well and the staff were very helpful and efficient. If you are staying in Durbanville, I would highly recommend Ruslamere.

This use to be one of the best places to stay when I came for business. Reception used to be neatly dressed. Came today. Receptionist was dressed in tracksuit pants and t shirt. I thought he was the gardener. He was very helpful and checked me in. Ceilings are falling down. Had some left over chip left in the microwave from the previous guest. Room looks like it hasn't been cleaned. Carpets dirty. Really not worth the money. Will not return again

This was a great hotel, unfortunately it is in serious decline. The number of broken and poorly maintained items in the rooms is not acceptable. It does seem that housekeeping do not report broken items, and small things like cleaning out the previous patrons bin and restocking coffee are not done.

Terrible from start to finish. We were meant to stay for two nights and we cut the stay short. The hotel and rooms are run down, there were rowdy guests all over the stairwell that the reception could not control. This hotel is most certainly not 4 star and the rates are far too high.

Upon arrival at the hotel there was no one at the security gate to let me in. Had to wait at least 10 minutes to enter the premises. There is no telephone in the room to contact the reception desk for any issues in the room. The following day the breakfast was also not ready at 7am as I had to leave early for a business meeting.
