We travel a lot and stay at many places. We wanted a sample of a bed and breakfast and a more traditional stay while going to our Godchild's wedding. It is an older Victorian house with about 15 rooms, which does give breakfast. Here are a few items that need to be attended to to bring this facility up to par. The wallpaper in our room and the hallways were starting to peel away and instead of gluing, they put matching tape to hold it together, there were stains on the rugs in our room and holes in the carpet in the halls. On each floor, the fixtures, old as they be, did'nt have matching bulbs, or many bulbs were missing. So the lighting was off. The shower caulk in our bathtub was moldy. The left handle on the sink was loose and came off. The ceiling above our bed was patched and not repainted so there were two different colors. The chairs were antique, for the ambiance, but they could not be sat on. The owner needs to put more money into restoring this location. Also, communication with the bed and breakfast was different. Every time I would call, the owner would just text me. I had to get all the info, and codes to get into the place by text. It would have been nice to get this info ahead of time and maybe have a copy in the room as well as how to use the TV, because it was apple tv. Also, there is no AC in this old house, which we understood, but there were portable AC units in halls and rooms, we were hoping that the electric panels could take all of these plug ins, along with microwave and refrigerators in the rooms. No one is ever at the front desk, you can only text him to talk. Not personable, I understand because of covid, but we felt that we were let alone in the house with no one at the desk. He just told us that we can text if we need anything. I had to text and ask for my receipt after I got home. I probably would not stay here again. Needs work and better communication.

Our stay was wonderful! The staff were outstanding and very responsive. We always got a “see you later, enjoy” and “welcome back” which is something you don’t often hear at a front desk. The breakfast was good, with two waffle makers, one making 4 small waffles, great for families. They had eggs, sausage and potatoes as the hot items and were better than those we’ve had elsewhere. There is a good selection of breakfast items such as bagels, muffins, cereal and oatmeal. Our room was very comfortable, with a large shower. During this age of COVID, there is not daily housekeeping, but you can ask for it and also ask for other things, such as extra towels, coffee, etc. The property itself is very clean and well maintained. We will definitely stay here again. We would like to give special commendation to Carolyn and Tootie (best front desk dog ever!) She was the best, always asking if there was anything we needed and just bringing a great personality to the front desk. She is such a people person who really cares that you have a great stay.

While traveling cross country with our dogs amid the covid crisis and the recent wind storm through Iowa, we stopped here on a Friday night. Found the check in person pleasant, microfridge in and pretty decent room. Also found non existent WI-FI (room 107 - back & bottom). Ice is given out by office personnel. $50 pet deposit required for us. I was not impressed with this motel 6. No, I personally do not recommend this establishment. Very poor value for the money (my opinion)

Wow. Great looking rooms with clean all over. Thank you to Amanda. and her entire HK team for their kindness and their hard work to keep these rooms so clean! Shampoo and conditioner are already on the shower wall for us. No more small bottles, and more eco-friendly. I highly recommend their breakfast. Thank you Peggy for going the extra mile. She created a solution to a peanut butter delivery issue. It worked for my kids, and we were impressed! Our food was hot and freshly made. They have a cool pancake machine. Gotta see. Their indoor pool area was clean and safe for kids! A cool, and private outdoor patio area next to the pool. One suggestion. Maybe consider selling some kid pool toys. Dakota keeps the front desk humming with his suggestions and offers his perspective to customers who ask for it. Want pizza? They bake frozen pizza on demand. Delicious and especially good for families. We were offered to have these delivered to our room. Nice. Don't forget to look at their nice gift shop. We have a set of exclusive Galena Memory greeting cards, unique to Stoney Creek Inn, Galena. Super neat. Stoney Creek Inn is one of the highly recommended hotels in Galena. My opinion. an impressive team, positive personalities, and a strong clean matters approach. Trevor and Brock's leadership continues to impress us, from their restaurant suggestions to places to visit in Galena.

The room was very clean , it had everything in the room that was said to be, tv cable, coffee maker ECT. We didn't eat breakfast maybe next time, Staff at front desk was very kind and courteous ,even drew us a map were to find the room, all and all great place to stay

This hotel was pretty nice. Our room was comfortable and clean. The front desk staff was not overly friendly with the exception of the young lady that checked us out (Roy). I was a little put out that there was no type of room service even though they have a full service restaurant in the hotel. The pool area was depressing. The hot tub was out of service but even if it had worked I think it fit maybe 2 people. It was tiny! We did feel like we were the odd people because we were NOT traveling with a dog. I have never stayed in any hotel with so many dogs. We even had barking in the hallways a couple of times on the 4th floor. The highlight was our waiter out by the firepit. I wish I had gotten his name. He was awesome!
