Town: Ella Time: October Rooms: sagarika and galu Kumari (infamous rooms with the GAP view) Boarding: half board (dinner and breakfast) Holiday: with parents and boyfriend In one word: exceptional Food is amazing, kudos to chef. Was able to change around the menu based on our preferences and food allergies. Staff are absolutely wonderful, friendly and accommodating. Let the staff know if you have any issues, they will endeavour to provide the best experience for you. Book these rooms! We had the view of the mini Adams peak and the Ella rock (with the gap inbetween) phenomenal to wake up to and see the sunrise. We are walking distance to the train station, and the main strip of shops with restaurants, sim card shops, tourist buys. Tuks (like open taxis) are easy to find. It was raining during the our stay, but the hotel was so lovely that we didn't mind staying in at all. Staff gave us all umbrellas when we did want to walk outside. Beautiful town, beautiful people, beautiful stay. Picture is the view from our room, sagarika.

I have to admit, we absolutely loved our stay here. The people were so accommodating and friendly. The location is on a steep hill, most cars won't make it up but walking down and up takes about 5 minutes or a tub tuk can get you there. The view is amazing and worth the walk. It's so close to the main road and close to main attractions (about 20min walk) the room was comfortable, warm, clean. The breakfast was some fruit, with eggs made according to your choice, some toast and they even let us try the coconut pancakes which were so yummy. Everything was amazing. We were so happy there and will definitely stay there again.

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. The view from our room was just amazing. It was an unobstructed view of the valley which is vast. The rooms are beautiful with a 4 poster bed and mosquito net that was positioned to look out over the balcony. The bathroom was large with a walk in shower. The balcony was big with a couple of chairs and beanbags so you could just relax and enjoy the view. We even had monkeys on our balcony one morning which was nice. They weren't aggressive or noisy, they were just passing through. Breakfast was different everyday with a choice of western or traditional. Town was an easy couple of minutes walk into town along the railway track so the location was perfect. The staff were great and always friendly and helpful. My only negative is the mattress was too hard for me but you can't get the perfect mattress that suits everyone. This would not stop me from staying there again. We loved it and would recommend it.

I recently stayed three nights at Ella Green cottages with my soon (13) and we had a lovely experience. The cozy cottages are nestled in the heart of nature, surrounded by lush greenery, which gave it a serene and peaceful jungle atmosphere with birds and small monkeys playing around. The cottages themselves were cozy and comfortable, with the necessary amenities to make the stay comfortable. We enjoyed the delicious home-cooked breakfast each morning. Pancakes, toast, fresh fruits, omelets and various traditional Sri Lankan foods. The host was very friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to make os feel comfortable and ensure that our stay was enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend Ella Green cottages to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat amidst nature. It is located on a hill side where the entry road is a bit too steep for vans to get up and down. If you are travelling with the private van, you may need to get off and to walk up to the hotel. it's not a too long walk but it's a steep one. Also, you will need to walk up to the stairs to your room and your toilet inside the room is not on the same level as your room so be prepared to have quite a lot of stairs walk. The hotel's balcony has a beautiful little Adam's Peak view and it's the best part of staying there. There is air-con for people looking for a hotel in Ella with this.
