I wanted a place in the mountains and Schwand Gusthaus delivered. Woke up to a scene out of a movie. Tall mountains, green pastures and tinkling bells on cows. Myelie and Patrick are great hosts. We had dinner in their restaurant one night. Excellent food! I am planning to stay here again this winter. It is a shared bathroom situation so if that is an issue look elsewhere. Beds were very comfortable. And Engelberg is a lovely little town.

It is a stunning place to stay with unbelievable views with a lovely family feeling and welcome.
The food in the evening was also delicious. Seriously a lot better than you would expect from a place this size.

Always worth to have lunch/dinner here. Have been eating here always at least once when being in Engelberg. The location is very quiet and beautiful (pretty romantic). The restaurant has a cosy interior and a large terrace. The food is delicious and very worth the price you pay. This time I had a "Schnitzel vom Schwein mit Fritten" as main dish and "Emmenthaler Meringue mit Glace" as dessert. I can also recommend their cheese fondue (from my prior visits) also delicious. (Posted this review as well on google)

Stayed there 2 nights 2 adults 3 teens. Place was spacious and owners really friendly and helpful. A lot of hikes available directly from the hotel. The view is spectacular got a chance to be there for the Swiss national birthday. Bratwurst, raclette and beer in the village just a fun party with them.
Price really good considering the region in which the hotel is found.

Super Gasthaus an etwas abgelegener Lage vom Dorfkern entfernt. Echt nostalgisch mit dem Baujahr 1877, dafür etwas hellhörig. Das Essen im Speisesaal war wirklich köstlich, und auch das Personal war sehr freundlich. Schönes Zimmer mit passender Einrichtung zum Jahrgang des Hauses.
Sehr empfehlenswert für jemanden, der mobil ist und die 4,5km vom Zentrum Engelbergs kein Problem darstellt. Die Preis/Leistung ist dabei sehr gut. Gerne wieder
