Munkudil Ayurveda Yoga Retreat

Munkudil is the most peaceful place with a wonderfull view. I had a room with a balcony, and I could sit there all day enjoying the view. The rooms are clean, the food tastes delicious and the staff is so kind and helpfull to your every wish. I would go back anytime.

The retreat center situated on a river bank in pristine nature is an extraordinary place. The views are wonderful and I spent ***y hours on my room balcony simply soaking in the surrounding beauty. The staff, Reggie, Salesh and Sri Lakshmi were kind and attentive and I felt nurtured by their care. The food was absolutely delicious and accommodations were extremely clean and comfortable. I hope to come back someday.

I stayed at Munkudil by myself and extended my stay not once, but twice. The breathtaking scenery, incredible staff, and Ayurvedic medicinal practices were the three greatest highlights of my time there! Meals are plentiful and fresh here, and taste like true home food. Additionally, there is guided meditation and low-intensity yoga each day. You can pass the days by swimming in the river (your backyard) and if you’re interested in excursions, the very friendly Jishnu will help organize birdwatching, morning kayaking, or a sunset boat tour through the jungle. My advice would be to not be shy and ask about what kinds of activities are going on so you don’t miss out on anything! If you are interested in ayurvedic treatments, you’ll definitely want to stay for at least one week — the ayurvedic doctor won’t be able to do much for you if you are only there for a short time (the folks who only stayed for 3 nights hardly saw their doctor at all). I stayed in the Mulla room as well as the Treehouse - both were fantastic experiences. The room was really big and luxurious with a semi-private balcony to give guests a stunning view of the river. The treehouse is perfect for backpackers on a budget, but be aware that you will be right in the middle of nature, so it’s not for the faint of heart! Overall, Munkudil was pure relaxation. I had the most perfect stay and can’t wait to come back!

Very friendly and intimate resort with amazing views, lovely food, nice Pancha Karma and best of all ( for us) daily swims in the river. All very chilled out and relaxed. Ayurvedic doctor on site and treatments to suit individual body types, also daily yoga.

fantastic staff , lovely location, great food, very good massages, all in all it was an incredible experience and vale for money on the day that I went kicking I saw a baby Elephant in the wild and a variety of birds

Wow! What a place! Spent two nights with my wife in one of these exotica rooms. Enough space for two! And the view is absolutely incredible! Food was excellent and the staff unbelievably friendly. We enjoyed so much! Don’t forget to book the morning kayaking! The sound of nature, the fresh smell of the river- you will never forget. Relax later with an Ayurvedic body massage or just have a little nap in the hammock. If we come back to Kerala, we most definitely will have a layover here again.

it was a fantastic stay, two days of relaxation, good food and fabulous massages. The terrace in front of the river, the morning banter and the evening light have prepared us for the journey that continues today towards Munnar. It's the best place we could choose to disconnect from everything, away from the noise of the city and surrounded by nature. The beautiful decoration with very good taste and very appropriate to create atmosphere. We must appreciate the attention to our dietary requests. Thanks for everything, great team!!

I usually choose hotels for my stays and Munkudil was out of my comfortable zone and it has changed all my perspective. They have the best crew, best food, best service and moreover the best location with amazing view. It was a rainy day and Me and wife did swimming in the river. They have cute pets which me and wife spent most of the time with. They have swimming pool, yoga class, ayurveda treatments. Hope to visit the place again.

Amazing riverside property, could also spot wildlife. Naturopathy, Ayurveda, Yoga in a refreshing hideout. We stayed with family & parents, homely food and great service. Traditional Kerala villa mud plastered for a healthy stay.
