Absolutely amazing time! The room was super cozy and very clean. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food is great and the service is outstanding. It was a super relaxing and fun weekend. Would highly recommend for couples looking for a nice weekend getaway.

We have past the Ashby Inn many times and read about it but never stayed until last friday evening. We got lucky and got a room and dinner reservation last minute due to another cancellation. We stayed in the School house suites. A very nice size room with fireplace and porch. Amenities were nice. Dinner was a treat. You could pick al a carte or tasting menu. We opted for the tasting menu which was lots of fun and tasty. Next morning breakfast was fantastic. All in all we had a very nice time and the staff was very pleasant. We will be back.

We had a delightful lunch on the patio. The patio and the historic inn are lovely, and the staff is very personable. The food was delicious. We ordered the prefixed menu with a lovely rose brut champagne. The prix fixe menu started with a chilled corn bisque that was delicate and tasty. The entree was a filet mignon with spinach, poached eggs, and bearnaise sauce. It was luscious and very tasty. We finished our delicious meal with a berry semifreddo. An absolutely delicious meal that was relaxed and had a peaceful view of the Virginia countryside. I highly recommend it. I am looking forward to going back again soon.

Let me start by saying the food, wine, atmosphere and service were impeccable. However, there was a table right across from us that created such a scene that it made the experience anything but enjoyable. I am not one to often complain however, this table (women) should have been asked to leave the terrace. The reason I state this is for the language that this woman was using every other word that came out of her extremely loud carrying voice was the f bomb. The entire terrace and all of the guests were appalled. The wait staff even mouthed her apology to me when I looked up. I am in no way a prude, but this was unacceptable for not only me but the wait staff as well. This woman was so loud that you couldn't hold a conversation over her. It was so distracting. Every table was apologized to by the manager. My question is this... when is the enjoyment of one table worth the disappointment of 10 tables. This is not acceptable for a fine dining experience. My 29th wedding anniversary dinner was ruined because of this.

This was our third time at the Ashby Inn. While it is still a nice get away from DC, the rooms and hotel are starting to feel a little tired. We stayed in the Schoolhouse and the linens and furnishings were a bit musty. The hotel does, however, anticipate your needs by providing a coffee maker, fridge, wine opener, and complementary drinks. We had dinner at the restaurant which was very good. Breakfast was also great even though our waiter was a bit rude.

This was our 30th anniversary, so of course we had to have a wonderful place. Many of our friends recommended, they were definitely right. Such a charming little place, limited space (make reservations well ahead). Dover Sole and Tagliatelle and very nice, presented with flair. Excellent wine choices. great service.

We stayed here one night for our anniversary after dining at the Inn and going to a lovely vineyard on our way here. We booked the glascock room and it was very nice with a private balcony with a view of the expansive lawn and garden. The place is very romantic and charming and we greatly appreciated the spacious bedroom and bathroom. There were some really thoughtful touches as well— nice bottled water and sodas, sherry in a decanter, a basket of extra toiletries such as toothbrushes and toothpaste, an ice bucket already filled with ice and a mini fridge. The price point is very reasonable for what you get, including breakfast at the restaurant. I will review the restaurant separately but the food was fantastic and the outdoor patio seating was delightful and romantic. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately, things have changed somewhat drastically ( at least to us it has). The white table cloths and patio view are still the same, but the food and service have definitely changed - and would not say for the better. The food was kind of tasteless, no one seemed to really be waiting on us, and no cocktail menu - I was told they didn't have the seasonal cocktail menu ready yet - by July? really? Brought me a gin drink and I asked for a nice gin, the manager (or someone not sure who) brought me a gin drink and told me he used a very good gin, when I asked. what gin he told me Tanqueray (I really don't consider that a very good smooth gin). I would love to know what happened to this lovely little Inn and restaurant.

We met two of my husbands brothers and their wives for a weekend wine get-a-way! We booked thie Bed and Breakfast because of the great reviews and its quiet location. It didn't dissapoint. The staff, although undergoing a lot of changes, couldn't have been more accommodating. Maxine(Max), the breakfast chef, is amazing. Both mornings out meal was superb and Rusty, our delightful server, took the best care of us, start to finish! They have a new dinner chef, Johnathan, starting this Wednesday. Although we didn't get the luxury of tasting his creations, we met him and he shared his background and experiences with us. I am sure he will exceed all expectations.
