Tundrea Holiday Resort

Very cool hut with an amazing a**osphere. It´s a traditional construction and it felt so nice to be inside. There is a fireplace, well prepared for making food, blankets,lots of mattrases and almost a lot of kitchen equipment. We had everything we needed.

Nice little cottage in good location: easy to reach skiing tracks and shops. Our stay would have been even better, if the household appliance had been easier to use and recycling systems organized as they should be.

Great location, penthouse apar**ent very comfortable and well equipped, kind and helpful staff. We had a nice view on the lake and mountain from the apar**ent, as announced. Kitchen is good for self-preparing simple meals. Breakfast at the restaurant was nice.

What can I say about my holiday with “Transun” and “Tundrea”! One of the mist amazing holidays I’ve been on. It was always a dream to head to the far north of Europe, and I wasn’t disappointed. The airport transfers were excellent with a direct transfer to the accommodation. The accommodation we stayed at was “Tundrea”. The rooms were clean, tidy and with great views. There were other shops close by for anything we could possibly need. Throughout the entire trip there were guides ready to help with any questions we could possibly have. The excursions were amazing and great fun, particularly the ice fishing, the snowmobile ride was very exciting, and the snacks provided mid trip were lovely. I also highly recommend the northern lights snowmobile expedition, it was amazing to see the beautiful skies without any light pollution. Despite it being very cold (-22C), we were provided with all the clothing and equipment we could possibly need and were very warm during the trip. The local people were lovely and super friendly and happy to help with anything we needed. A highlight of the trip and one that everyone enjoyed was the reindeer experience where we were given a talk about the lives of the reindeer farmers and the hardships they go through. We then went on a sleigh pulled by the reindeers; it was amazing and would be excellent for children! There was even an open fire for toasting some marshmallows while we could also feed the reindeers. I’ve never seen a frozen marshmallow before! All I can say is if you’re hesitating about booking a trip to Lapland don’t. You won’t be disappointed, and I can thoroughly recommend the team at Transun to make sure this is a holiday of a lifetime!

What a wonderful holiday with Transun and Tundrea! The airport and transfer: The flight both there and back were fabulous with the crew on board excellent and check in at both airports couldn't have been easier. The transfer was a 2 hour ish drive to where we were staying and was a lovely drive. Accommodation: Tundrea were we stayed was brilliant and the rooms were well equipped for everything we needed. It was in a brilliant location and close to everything we needed excursions, shops, etc Hotel and staff Overall cleanliness and functioning of hotel was brilliant with the brilliant helpful staff to accommodate this. The food was excellent with a hot meal available for every part of the day and lots of drinks and snacks available too and also the bar if you fancy a drink. The staff were always on hand to help and were very polite. Excursions + activities The excursions were amazing, can't fault them. The snowmobile voyages were incredible, both the 3 border one and northern light one, in which we were fortunate to see a bit of them! They were well equipped with 3 guides who we followed and who all had very good knowledge of the surroundings and snow mobiles and ensured we knew how to operate them safely. We went on the ice fishing excursion too, a must try even if you hate fishing, it is an incredible experience of the lake with the sun shining and having a good time! We also did the snowshoeing, a must try for anyone, a great experience and also the sami reindeer camp in which we fed and rode the reindeers, again an unbelievable experience. Overall, we had a wonderful time with everything from the transfers to the food to the excursions and we will most definitely be using Transun again and going again, simply the best holiday and experience, would highly recommend to anyone!

Transun trip in Jan/Feb 24 staying at tundrea hotel in malla cabin Cannot fault hotel cabin great for 2 warm and with sauna - shower wet room rudimentary but worked well Drying cupboard useful too We were full board and food was great solid food to keep you warm and energised. Loved the soups! And drinks were not as expensive as expected Bit more info on borrowing sleds or where to go would be good! Staff friendly and chatty

We travelled to Tundrea for a 4 night stay with Transun. The whole trip was fantastic. The food was great it could however do with being kept hotter, I think they need new hot plates. The bar service was good and had a great selection of alcoholic drinks. All the staff were wonderful, our Malla premium cabin (with a sauna) was exceptionally clean, extremely warm and comfortable. We had everything we needed for our stay. Hiring the Jacuzzi and sauna to ourselves for the evening was also great and we were lucky enough to see the Northern lights. Anyone that is travelling from the uk, there is a supermarket opposite the resort which is great for drinks and beers under 5%, there is also an Alko shop for stronger alcohol .

Great resort next to a lake with cabins and apar**ents with a restaurant and bar. Food was really good (we had full board package which included tea/coffee or water and berry fruit juice with our meal). You get three good meals with a pudding included with the evening meal. Mala lodge was comfy and big enough for 6 people, heating was very warm and private sauna was a great addition. Clean throughout with kitchenette, washing machine and comfy beds. Staff were helpful and made sure our meals were available around the activites and even included a packed lunch for the journey home. The trips included in the snowmobile voyager Transun package were fabulous and we were lucky to see the northern lights, reindeer farm, and a trip to the three country point. You are given an extra coat, gloves, ski mask and helmet with visor for the snowmobile trips and you are taken there and back by minibus which takes 5 mins. The reindeer farm is just a short walk away. We had a great time, really well organised, all activites were local to Tundrea kilpisjarvi, and everything we needed was provided. Would stay there again and recommend 100%

We enjoyed a 4 night stay in one of the Wau Houses which was a real treat. They've genuinely thought of just about everything to ensure your stay is luxuriously comfortable. Kilpisjärvi is a small town with one through road and a great supermarket. When it's covered in snow it's very magical. The locals are both welcoming and very friendly. We were on a snowmobile adventure holiday and were looked after by the team at Kilpisafari who made us feel safe and well looked after. They were informative and always cheerful. The extra layers of clothing they provided were much appreciated in temperatures of -30°c. The food at the Tundrea Resort was basic but always fresh and really tasty. The staff were polite, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We had an issue with our hot water but it was sorted immediately with the help of Craig and a wonderful Finnish man who's English was as good as our Finnish. All in all this was such a great holiday made better by excellent accommodation and the privilege of seeing the Northern Lights on more than one occasion.
