Helvetia&Bristol Firenze – Starhotels Collezione

The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the train station. Because Florence SMN is in the old town, it is recommended to take a taxi if you push the box. Between 7 and 9 euros. Always check these hotel reviews, it is too long and too small. Patio room and more. I have to correct it here. First, the hotel belongs to the five-star hotel of LEADING Hotel. Second, the hotel house itself is a historic building. More than two hundred years of history. Third, the hotel was just renovated in 2019. At present, some rooms on Ctrip are not updated. Fourth, the hotel entrance is Lu, the door is Cartier, next to BV, Bulgari, GUCCI. Walk to Republic Square for two minutes. Go to the old bridge of Vignano for ten minutes. Great location. Fifth, the hotel service is really worthy of five stars. Always smile, funny, provide free drinks, the doorman will always take the baggage and send it directly to your room. And carefully introduce the surrounding environment and provide Chinese maps and introductions to Florence. Sixth, the decoration of the hotel is very tasteful. Of course, the paintings and statues seen in a building more than two hundred years old are antiques. And many hotels in Italy and even five-star hotels in Europe are small rooms in historic buildings. The current area in a Baroque building is really small. Eighth, the hotel is a back-shaped building, so the window in the middle room is called the “patio”. If you don’t like it, you should adjust it in advance. Ninth, the toiletries in the room are really luxurious. . And there are slippers and kettles that Chinese people like in the room. Tenth, the towels in the restrooms are all brand new cotton towels. I don't want the kind of towel that has been used for a long time. And the water pipe with a small detail hanging towel is a hot water pipe. It should be specially designed by the hotel. The hot water is very hot. If the clothes are hung on the top, it will be done the next day. The hotel has not made publicity. It will become the net red hotel in the future.

Charge 70 euro late check-in fee!!! I did my online check-in 2 days prior to arrival & received an email advising me there would be a late check-in fee. I replied advising this was disappointing as I would have booked a different hotel had I known this at time of booking, but did not receive a reply. I paid for my taxi before at 1.50am and checked into the hotel by 2am. Upon arrival there was 1 man at the hotel, I was just given my room key and shown to my room. There was no mention of sorting out a payment the following morning, and if I was told this, I would have sorted it out there and then as I was not tired at the time or if I had a response to my email I would have stayed with my friends on the first night even though I had already paid for my room. The next morning when I went to reception and they did not say anything about my check-in or outstanding payment as I had paid in full at time of booking. On the last night I didn't get any fresh towels or toiletries. When I checked out, the lady at reception told me to pay 70 euro for late check-in. I said the fee was unreasonable since I advised the hotel I'd be arriving around midnight at time of booking and was not told about the fee till 2 days prior to arrival after doing the online check-in which did not disclose the fee either, she started mumbling rude remarks under her breath in Italian when I asked her to show me the fee on their website/ time of booking and she showed me the reception opening hours on their website but was not able to show me the fee anywhere. She insisted this was normal, I said I work for a hotel and it most certainly is not normal to charge a 70 euro late check-in fee when the hotel doesn't have after hours check-in procedures in place. Otherwise they should have a disclosure on the website advising that there is a late check-in fee after hours, but they do not. They just say check-in is available until 13:00. My friends stayed across the road in a stunning boutique hotel and were given an access code with keys to access their room and did not pay a late check-in fee. I explained that we have a safe for people to access keys after hours and we don't charge a late check-in fee either. I was saying the fee is not advertised anywhere and I wanted to see it in writing before I paid anything. She then said they pay 10 euro per hour for someone to stay back and check me in, now they are saying they pay 17.50 euro an hour. I said if I had known this I would have booked a different hotel or stayed with my friends for the first night, even though I had already paid for the room in full at time of booking. I said I was happy to pay 10 euro per hour from 11pm when reception closed to 2am, when I checked in, not 3am that they made up, because of a delayed flight, but was not paying the unreasonable fee of 70 euro, so she told me to take it up with the airline. She then got her colleague to tell me it was 45 euro till midnight and 75 euro after midnight and kept mumbling rud

First off our triple room didn't look like the picture but worse was that it had a sewage smell. When I spoke to the front desk they said nothing could be done that day however they could change our room the following day before 2pm. When I went back the same individual gave me a hard time saying it was too late the rooms were cleaned etc. I persisted with what he told me the day before and then with agitation asked what was wrong with the room. I told him it was the sewage smell, he asked in Italian one of the staff if it was true and she confirmed in Italian that it was defiantly smelly. Needless to say I understand Italian but did not lead on. He stated there was a room available but much smaller. The female took us up to see the room and we agreed to change as room did not smell. I did not question him on the difference in price as he was so unapproachable. We learned latter that day that the air conditioning did not work, so we had to keep the window open through the entire time. Needless to say that it was very noisy as the room back into the alley way. I WOULD ALSO like to say the breakfast was poor selection however the gentleman that worked there was very efficient in keeping the cappuccinos going and cleaning up the tables to make room for all to sit. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS HOTEL AND WILL ADVISE EVERYONE I KNOW NOT TO GO THERE. WE SPENT SO MUCH MONEY FOR THIS PLACE, I FEEL WE WERE ROBBED.

My daughter stayed at the Hotel Romagna this last weekend. She misjudged the train schedule, and the staff was extremely helpful in securing a new reservation. It took a lot of effort on their part to look through the train schedules to find the time that was going to work. Amazing view of The Duomo from her room, too! Grazie!

I arrived with my septuagenarian parents on April 27 for a week-long stay. The hotel provided us with the right room classification on arrival, but I was concerned that the suite was single bathroom instead of two and the closet space was not optimal for our needs. Annamaria, Victoria and Samuele stand out as front office staff who listened and acted swiftly to help address our request for help and resolved the issue the next day. That was the first wow moment of our stay. I also recommend the breakfast (came with our reservation package) and you should take advantage of the Rooftop Bar, the view of the Duomo and across the city 360 degress is suberb. After 10+ visits to Florence, this hotel has become my new preferred location and I anticipate returning here in the years to come.

I stayed at the San Giorgio for two nights with my girlfriend, as we were in town for her birthday. I was already positively impressed when I booked, because the price was great for such a central hotel; obviously, however, a low price can be a double-edged sword, so when we got there (following a 3-minute walk from the Santa Maria Novella train station) I was a little wary of potential issues with the place – lo and behold, my misgivings were almost entirely baseless. I mean, I'm not gonna lie, the place isn't high-end: it's a little too dark and heavy on curtains/draperies, the toilet in our room was too close to the wall so that it couldn't be opened fully, and the Wi-Fi on the fourth floor was dodgy at timea. What we found, on the other hand, was a very tight-knit staff that was always kind and available, even before our check-in and after our check-out. Moreover, our bed was remade and our towels were replaced every morning, something I don't take for granted in a 3-star hotel. Finally, the 7:30 breakfast was nothing too fancy but did its job very well, especially thanks to the waiters who were always ready to greet newcomers and to offer coffee. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised (I know I sound condescending but my praise is genuine) and I would definitely come back if I were in town for a short period of time.
