Limited options due to “winter “ business. Only one key available for room due to lack of inventory, bar and snack bar not open for winter. Not convenient to walk to any dining venue

I was given a room different than what i booked online. The room wasnt cleaned property so I asked to be changed to another room.
The new room happened to be the room I booked. Unfortunately the smoke alarm was faulty and kept on going off. I brought this to the help desk attendants attention and was given 2 batteries to switch out. That dis not solve the issue so I was told to just unplug the smoke alarm from the wall.
There was not another room available for us to stay in so i climbed up on the bed to attempt to disconnect the faulty fire alarm. This took care of the issue and management credited me back 50%.

Our room door would not close. You could just push on it to open. We locked it at night. However, if we had been staying more than one night our room was not secure. I reported it once we got in the room. Front desk said to slam it but that did not work. We reported it again at checkout.

HVAC system's thermostat was broken (shorting out and stuck on full blast) and the room was freezing cold on an already cold night. Staff was unhelpful finding a resolution and was a very uncomfortable stay.

Room was said to be ready but bed was not made then moved to a handicap room and couldn't hang my clothes because the closet bar was to low

Staff was great. Always pleasant and eager to accommodate. Room was adequately clean, with the exception of the bathroom. A little more attention needs to be put towards cleaning of the showers. I brought my own cleaning supplies and did what I could to make it better. Other than that, the stay was pleasant and would stay again.

Newer motel that was clean and was in a good location to beach and other sites, garage parking, exercise room, etc. Several minor glitches encountered during my 3 night stay: room not cleaned & resupplied 2nd day, key card didn't work one day, minimal breakfast choices (no fruit 1st day). Moderate road noise at night due to being next to I45 and 61st St.
