Ren I Tang Heritage Inn

Surprised us with luggage delivery service. The attendant lifted the luggage up with ropes via a hook to the upper floor before it was delivered to the guest room. Nice heritage ambiance for a short stay.

This was one of the best experiences of my life. It gave me a glimpse of time past. it is so well put together and Teng is super nice I could never fault her for anything she helped make the stay easy and enjoyable. I would highly, highly recommend staying in their beautiful hotel. You would be in the heart of Penang and experience the real life of everyone around you.

We stayed 4 nights over 2 separate visits. We stayed in 3 different rooms (including Chinese and Loft room). Great experience. Very comfortable beds and luxurious showers. Lovely breakfasts It's in the middle of the hassle and bustle of Little India. So there's noise and vitality and wonderful sights everywhere. A former Chinese medicine house that has been lovingly restored to create a unique boutique hotel experience. You won't believe how the take your luggage to your room!!! Evening meals and lunches are very tasty. We love this place, the staff are very kind, helpful and friendly. We slept very well, every night, in all 3 rooms. It was lovely being lulled to sleep by the white noise of the monsoon rain.

A wonderful location in Little India of Penang. A restored bldg with a pleasant vibe. Staff were hospitable, efficient and friendly. Breakfast was simple and perfect. Rooms were very spacious, and nicely furnished. Would return!!!!!!!

We absolutely loved our stay here. At first we weren't sure if we were entering the lobby or an antique shop but once we were inside we were greeted warmly, our suitcase was whisked upstairs using an ingenious rope pulley, and we were immediately immersed in a place where every single piece of decor was clearly carefully considered to fit within the antique style. Despite the old school surrounds, there were modern comforts like air conditioning, and every part of the hotel was also spotlessly clean (while retaining character). We stayed in a family room with our 2 kids aged 7 & 9, and there was plenty of room for the whole family. We had our own room with a door, while the kids had two single beds in the wider area. I especially appreciated their efforts to reduce their environmental impact by serving filtered water in glasses, even their bins were lined with old newspaper instead of plastic bags. If you stay here, make sure you have at least one lunch or dinner at the cafe downstairs, it was so delicious and packed with local flavours. Their breakfast selection was also surprisingly wide and super tasty, including nonya desserts and roti which my son loved. Location couldn't be better, you're a short walk from all of Georgetown's attractions. Overall I think we enjoyed our stay here more than our beach resort. If you see this hotel has availability, I urge you to book immediately, it's a real gem.
