Royal Hotel Montevergine ★★★

"I have just returned home from a ten day stay in this hotel , the location is up in the mountains and is very picturesque , unfortunately the hotel itself is very dated and slightly run down , the fountain that greets you in the car park was never on with green water sitting stagnant which was a hive of mosquitos , the entrance is clean and tidy , the staff are relatively friendly with Sebastian being especially helpful at times , but , they could benefit from a tidy / smart uniform to highlight that they work for the hotel with staff members wearing civilian clothing making it hard to decipher if they work there or not. The breakfast included is not good unfortunately , Cornettos and jams available with 2 cakes and a few bottled random juices but that’s it , the stay would be so much better if they made the breakfast options greater . The restraint area is tired , dated and in some areas dirty with cobwebs dwelling in corners and windows dirty and dusty . We had food on the first day which was ok but was hugely over priced for what it was so we didn’t eat there again , there is no price list available either. The rooms were also dated with bedside draws damaged and paint flaking off of the walls and electrical points hanging off the walls , the bathrooms were again aging with flaking paint and mould in the shower unit , the mirror on the wall was wobbly with an electrical wire poking out of the top and had tiles missing in the shower unit which was tiny and hard for me to fit in at 6ft tall , the door were mouldy also. All in all the hotel could be so much more and it was a shame it couldn’t meet the expectations we had ."

"We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Colucci in Nusco while visiting relatives for a vacation and local wedding. The price was reasonable, and the beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable, ensuring restful nights. The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the larger family rooms—we booked three—were perfect for our group, especially compared to the other Nusco hotel. The air conditioning was a must for us and a big plus, as the other local hotel lacks this. The breakfast was delightful, offering eggs, fruit, meat, cheese, etc and a fantastic cappuccino. The staff was friendly, English-speaking, and made us feel so welcome. The hotel’s beautiful terrace, surrounded by greenery, was a lovely spot to relax. The Nusco mountains are breathtaking, and the hotel’s location, just a short walk from the town center, was ideal. The balcony on the right side of the hotel was a nice spot to sit and enjoy a peaceful view. The only minor issue was a shower curtain in one room that let some water spill out, but the shower pressure was great. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Nusco. Hotel Colucci was a gem, and we’ll definitely return!"

"This is probably the best hotel in the city. The service and everything else were excellent, the breakfast was delicious, and the rooms were new… The only downside is the very old-fashioned key that comes with a super heavy hammer… It's a top choice for business trips. The only drawback is that the heating isn't very effective… I woke up freezing in the middle of the night."

"An absolutely beautiful B&B in central Benevento, one minute's walk from Arco di Traiano. The hosts are super friendly and gracious, the breakfast possibilities are vast and varied and the rooms are immaculate and peaceful, with good WiFi. I would give this brilliant place ten stars if I could. If you are in Benevento, this is an excellent choice. "
