Nonam Boutique Hotel Gent

Worst experience we ever had in hospitality ! We slept in a definitely unclean room : the sheets were covered with hair, stains and even blood. The floor had not been vacuumed. We found a dirty towel on the sink and some toilet paper leaves were used and broken laying on the floor. Stains were all over the walls, floor, and bathroom area. Unacceptable to charge guests 199€ a night and let them sleep in a room in such condition. We couldn’t talk to anyone about this situation since there is no client's service in the hotel Nonam : the reception is a self check-in / check-out computer. We wrote to the hotel after our stay, asking for a refund, and at least, an apology. We were shocked by their answer and denial. To them, "the stains cannot go off and are normal". Total lack of respect from this hotel Nonam towards their clients.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. It was newly renovated in a beautiful old house, and the cute breakfast area was a great touch. The only negatives were the smell coming from our sink/shower, there was only one small mirror in the bathroom—getting ready for a night out is very difficult without a proper mirror and good lighting, and our bathroom didn’t have a door at all. Staying there as a long term married couple wasn’t an issue as we were okay with the lack of privacy, but I wouldn’t recommend a new couple to stay here unless they are okay with absolutely no privacy while on the toilet.

Extremely cosy rooms and an excellent location dead centre of the city. Unbelievably beautiful surroundings. Nice and helpful staff. The rooms have an interesting bathroom solution, so you should be very comfortable with your partner sharing a room.

I was shocked at the lack of care given to guests who would be using the self check in service. On reaching my room in the dark it was practically impossible to see where or how to use my key card to switch the lights on. When I finally found the slot, the strange system for light switches meant that no matter what combination of buttons I pressed all around the room, I could only ever get two out of five lights to work. I had to get ready in the morning in semi darkness. No milk in the rooms for coffee. Cereal supplies downstairs, but again, no milk. The place looks great, the bed was comfortable but without basics like working lights and useable refreshments it added up to a frustrating stay.

The Nonam is an interesting old style inn appearance with basic amenities, a place to lay your head and shower in the morning. My stay here was 3 weeks so the basic nature of the Hotel was a bit of a drag towards the end. The hotel is very clean and secure, and has a niche feel about it. The room was basic with no chest of drawers to settle into for a longer term stay and requires living out of the suitcase. The 'breakfast nook' was a bit of a joke, simply a coffee machine and a prepackage mass produced pastry. The price is in line with most higher end hotels in the area.

Hotel Nonam was in a great part of town, close to the tram and lots of restaurants. Our room was very quiet and comfortable.

Absolutely amazing place to stay. Very peaceful and decor was beautiful. Very clean and comfortable. Quiet neighbourhood and not far from tourist attractions. Pleasant stroll into the market place. Lots of places to eat. Parking is a little restricted if you have a larger car.
