📍 The Traveller's Rest, Grasmere

"We used the travellers inn as we wanted to see the grisdale tarn and we needed to a room to stay after the sight. They allowed us to store our luggage at the inn as our check in was at 3pm. The rooms were clean and it overlooked a farm area with lots of sheep. The room had an aesthetic look and there was tea satchets we could have as well. The staff were kind and wonderful. The rooms had the britain charm you see in old english movies. If you love sheeps, kind people, good food and 80's british aesthetics- then this place is just for you. We loved our stay here."

"The hotel is old-fashioned and the breakfast is not rich enough. The hotel is on the roadside and the noise from passing cars is loud."

YHA Grasmere Butharlyp Howe ★★★★
"I booked this a few weeks ago and read the many excellent reviews and some of the less than fantastic ones too. The bad nearly outweighed the good when making my decision. However, due to its location being perfect for my needs I booked. I am sitting at dining table now within the hostel and all I can say is that the people who left poor reviews could only have been expecting the Hilton. This place is absolutely fantastic in every way, it has everything anybody could ever need, the showers are piping hot, its clean, its not modern but this isnt London. The food is lovely and very reasonable. I will definitely endorse my review as 100% I cannot find fault. Well done Team 👏"

Heidi's Grasmere Lodge ★★★★
"Another fabulous stay, room 3 on this visit which did state no view but we had the view of tweedies gardens which is better than a Brick wall in my opinion, we always enjoy our stay here and have already booked to return in August. The staff are so lovely especially Craig we love to have a catch up with him on all our visits. Breakfast top-notch too. A must visit in our book."

Lake View Country House ★★★★
"The Lake View Country House is located in a quiet corner with private access, but it is just a few minutes walking distance from the property to the shops nearby. I had to say thank you to Richard, the proprietor of this place, he was so nice and friendly. To save money, he reminded me to make reservation on the official site and accepted our stay with 3 cats. 😊 I and my family members stayed here for 4 nights and wanted to fully explore the Lake District. We found this hotel was the ideal base to start from in every morning. I and my family members stayed in Fellside Suite and Lake Room, both rooms were clean, tidy, with great facilities, good bath/shower with a great view from the rooms. We all enjoyed our stay immensely and we will definitely come back here for our next visit to the Lake District. Well done, Richard."

"Easy parking, very friendly welcome, superb breakfast and the rooms beautifully appointed. Amazing bathroom. Only criticism, if any, the underfloor heating was a bit too efficient and no information to switch it off."
