Great National Cliff Hotel

room was a little jaded (curtains not well arranged, window had a beading missing, and the bathroom was just a little past its prime) and the tea/coffee hidden in a cupboard (why?) and there was only one sachet of hot choc and one pack of biscuits for two occupants - but the bed was huge, and we loved the two bottles of still & sparkling water which met our two preferences! These days a couple of charging points would also be welcome. Chosen for location so can't fault that - and the lovely doorman (the local cat) was an absolute asset to the hotel. Would book again.

I liked the room but it was very hot and I had to open the widow... Also very noisy from people walking above.... The bed was good but I didn't manage to sleep I was awake most of the night

The price was a little over the limit £118 a night without breakfast then £10,95 for breakfast was a dear night out ??

The dining area was nice, evening food very good. I was surprised that breakfast wasn't included in the cost. Comfortable lounge area and a great place to have met up with family post new year.

Delightful roof top bar beautiful location, clean and beautifully decorated jotel on art nouveau/deco theme tastefully done.

On arrival, check-in was quick and easy.The staff were so pleasant and helpful.The hotel is so lovely,the rooms down stairs are big,and the decor is so nice.Out the back of the hotel,the views are awesome,over looking the sea and the best voted beach in the country.The food was second too none,breakfast,was without a doubt,one of the nicest we have had.Location of the hotel,could not be better. Now for our room,we had a small double,which was cosy,but with a few problems,we felt.The room was tiny,with not much room.No chairs to sit on,to watch the TV,but they had a 4 foot fan in there,in the middle of December. Two things that did annoy us,the first one,there was two steps going down to a very lovely bathroom,but the noise of them when you stood on them,was horrendous.Get up in the middle of the night,to go to the loo,that's everyone awake.Secondly,the shower was gorgeous,but,nowhere to put your soap,shower gel,had to put them on the floor.Easily sorted. We loved our stay,and would go back,but not in room 204.

We booked a small room using a reward night. Everything up to standard. Good choice for breakfast and it was good quality. Table service was nice touch.

We've stayed at this lovely hotel several times ,its beautifully located on a hill in Gorleston ,overlooking the sea. This was our worst ever stay. Allocated a twin room over the main entrance and the carpark, we suffered heavy noise & disturbance ,till the early hours of Sunday,due to revellers at a noisy disco event, cars revving up, leaving & departing continuously . Some guests sounded as if they were moving heavy furniture around at 1-2am! (We had complained on arrival that our beds had no mattress protectors ,just a sheet directly over the mattress -ugh!! We were given two extra single flat sheets, as apparently the hotel dont possess single bed mattress protectors .Hard to believe in a classy hotel....The pillows were rock-hard,impossible to sleep comfortably on. Our bathroom pipes appeared to be blocked,as the bathwater took 45 mins to drain away ... The bathroom fan was incredibly noisy. There are no nets or voiles on the room's windows. On opening the heavy curtains in the morning ,to let the daylight in, we noticed smokers and arriving car drivers, looking upwards and able to see us in our nightwear. Hastily drew the curtains again! Despite this pretty awful experience ,we still rate this hotel for its scenic location ,beautiful terraces and friendly ,efficient reception staff.

Nice room, awful view from the window. Sink was blocked, shower head blocked. Nice location and Hotel.
