Quiet clean budget room with comfy bed. Shared bathroom clean and good hot shower. Meets the needs if you are after secure and clean budget accommodation.

Old school type of hotel that's a throwback to a bygone era but still nicey kept. Had a very pleasant overnight stay while in town. Very close to The Prince of Wales Hotel (where check in took place) where you could get a good meal.

The Commercl has been taken over and the accommodation modernised, The room was nice, it had a quite large refigerator, a flat screen TV, kettle and tea and coffee. However in the renovation they had taken out the washbasin- my view is if the facilities are down the hall (and in the case of my room) the furthers away - then the wash basin is needed in the room. There was a large off street parking area and access either throughtthe back or off the street, the bar was not yet open so dinner and drinks were across the road at the Prince of Wales. Would I stay again? not unless I could not find something better.

description deceiving it said 2 bathrooms 1 shared bathroom it was shared across a shared hallway lounge and dining Room nothing like pics was under staircase so heard everything creak and noise from above Old floorboards left without staying 2nd night hated it

Old world hotel in the middle of historic town. Rooms basic but comfortable and quiet. Shared bathrooms are clean but woman’s would be inadequate if occupied fully. Alternate facilities were not available at the time of visit meaning a reasonable walk was necessary to access during the night. Overall a pleasant stay

We had ground floor front room.
Room was over crowded with furniture, extension leads and power boards running everywhere, no mirrors in room.
Street noise and noise from the stars and front entrance is a real concern seeing this is a family room. This room is very over priced. Shared bathroom with no power points.

Very comfortable and cozy in the family room. A bit different from the usual motel style accommodation and quite a lot of history, we really enjoyed it. We didn't mind having a shared bathroom, it was close to the room and we didn't see anyone else. Might be a bit cold in winter though.
