On our first trip to St Barth’s, my wife and I spent 4 nights at the beautiful Hotel Christopher. We have been traveling around the world for over 40 years, and from arrival at the airport, until we departed, the service provided was some of the best we have ever experienced. The service was not that typical kiss-butt experience that you sometimes find in 5-star hotels, but genuine, friendly interaction. On arrival Luca picked us up, assisted with luggage and brought us to the hotel. Olivia met us on arrival, with a welcome drink, and showed us to our room. We were approached every day by the concierge, Thibault, to check if everything was okay, and whether we needed anything. Thibault and the entire guest relations team were wonderful, and arranged reservations prior to and after arrival. We were greeted every morning by Charlotte, Lea, Melodie, and other staff for a very nice breakfast buffet and made-to-order eggs, which was included in the rate. Every morning Roman brought our Mini-Cooper around and provided towels for the beach; the car was arranged, delivered, and retuned by the hotel. The hotel has a beautiful pool with an ocean view, and Paul and Manon took care of us there and at the beach bar. For dinner, Entienne suggested wine, and along with the other staff, provided excellent service. It was interesting that the hotel does not provide name tags fo the employees, but because of the friendliness of the staff, we got to know a little about each one of these people, a lovely group of young, energic, hard working individuals. The Hotel should be very proud of its staff! This was one of the cleanest and meticulously maintained properties that we have visited. The grounds are lush with tropical plants and trees; the large pool is wonderful, and the views from the restaurants and the pool are outstanding, with fantastic sunsets. We had a Terrace Room, which was a good size, great bed and shower, and provided a partial view of the pool/ocean, while being private. It had easy access to the rest of the facilities; just walk out your door. The hotel has a once-a-month cinema night by the pool, which was lovely; it is very popular and attended by outside guests. The Hotel is really an intimate and romantic resort, with 42 rooms; everything is easily accessible. The hotel is located on the far northeast side of the island, so you need a car to get around and go to the beaches. Driving around the island is pretty easy, and Google maps worked well; the Mini-Cooper convertible was a lot of fun to drive. The roads are all paved and well maintained; we stuck to driving during the day, since it was our first time there. We had several meals in the hotel and the food is delicious. The dinner is fine dining; the food was great and prepared by a renowned chef from the south of France. The Pool Bar has a more varied menu, with pizza, burgers, etc., but closes at 7:00 pm. Like just about anywhere on St. Barth’s, everything is pricey. We h
