The owners of this lovely inn were so gracious and kind. We were picked up at the Happo bus terminal and then driven back on our last day. We used the Yamoto (Black Cat) service to have our luggage shipped to the inn and the owner arranged the pick up by Yamoto on our last day. So easy and convenient. We slept on 2 futons on the warm floor which was more comfortable than some hotel beds we had slept in. The room and the bathroom were clean. The legless floor chairs were comfortable but I can see how it might not be for those who can't cross their legs or sit with their legs extended on the floor. We had warm breakfast every morning and for dinner, the main street is within about 15 minute walking distance. We also ate at Oak Forest hotel nearby (5 min walk) which was pretty good. There are 3 shuttle bus stops and one of them is in front of the inn. This gets you to most of the resorts. If you want to go to Cortina, you need to get to one of these resorts and then take a town bus to Cortina. Another option is to take a taxi. If you don't mind walking, you can explore the ski jump nearby. Lastly, the inn has a good selection of Japanese whisky you can try as well as Japanese beer and wine. So no need to walk to town if you just want to have a happy hour or a night cap.
