There’s so much to say about this hotel experience. First, this hotel is in one of the best areas of Hamburg. It is located near shopping and walking and tours. It is only a five minute walk from the train station. The rooms are more than adequate and the hotel staff was very friendly. That being said, this was an extremely frustrating experience. We checked in and realized that our heating towel rack did not work and reported it right away. They seem concerned and promised Someone would come up and check on it. That never happened. We then reported it for the three days we stayed here. Nothing was done, and there was no concern about it from the staff. We were offered a free hot drink for our inconvenience. We decided to stay another night and we were told we could keep our room rather than moving everything we owned. 15 minutes later, they told us that would not be possible. It was extremely frustrating. During our stay, the elevators were non-functioning and we were on the third floor. Normally that’s not a problem but my husband suffers from Parkinson’s so it was a little bit difficult walking up and down the stairs for two days.
Is lovely as this hotel but they nickel and dime you for everything. There is no shampoo or conditioner in the hotel rooms. There’s a note that they have these amenities at the front desk. They offer cookies and coffee in the lobby but everything has a cost to it.
Based on the options in this town, this would not be our first choice.
